I just bought Assassin's Creed Revelations Gold Edition, but when I go to the details on the game list and press the DLC button, I can still buy all the DLCs... Is that even right? When I bought some DLC of Magicka, they didn't appear in that list. Also, SG only has the base game after I synched... And I'm sure I got the Gold Edition 'cause I checked the CD-Keys and I got one for the base game and 3 for all the DLCs. Also, in the purchase history it shows I bought the Gold Edition. Uhhhh... Hope I won't encounter any problem...

I think steamgifts has touble with showing dlc you own because steam library data they sync to doesn't really show it(some rare times they do, and if it does sg would know but apparently not usually.

I just use sg+ to block the giveaways for dlc I have(you have to enter it manually into the list)

But then anyone could have chances to win DLCs they already own... Kinda unfair.

yeah, but you're just supposed to not be a dick.
(and the ones who enter for something they already have because of this loophole tend to be dumb enough to win the same dlc twice and make themselves obvious or whatever)

for example I've got civ5 gold and as far as steamgifts knows I don't have gods and kings or any other dlc/they only list the base game as owned.(and so could enter for gods and kings or a gold pack of civ v or any other dlc

SteamGifts uses the publicly available "owned games" list provided by Steam, because, well, that is what Steam makes available. It looks like DLC isn't actually supposed to be listed. I'd guess that most games don't list their DLC, and games that listed early DLC tend to stop listing later DLC.

That doesn't even touch on other listing confusion, such as Steam bundle confusion or when a game itself has multiple listings. (One of the King Arthur games had that multiple listing issue, where the game you are marked as owning isn't the game that Steam's store page lists. Even the Steam store page itself wouldn't show that you owned one of the items, even though you did.)

Right click the game, go into properties and click the DLC tab.

Honestly, Steam needs a better way of dealing with DLC detection.

Yeah enhanced Steam has you covered... it doesn't always sync up, but it usually does and it will show you what you own.
