Actually thats exactly what "The people who invite the most people in the next week will all get a copy of the game!" ends up doing is having people spam their friends list for people to join so that they have a chance at a game. They never just pick a few select people, they just spam everyone on their list to join your group.
So yes it does encourage people spamming others and your profile about now spamming people doesn't actually mean anything, they will ignore it.
Its like saying "we don't encourage people to speed but the first person to get to this radio station gets this prize". You know people are going to speed and not drive safe to get there. Not everyone does that, but there will be at least a few.

I remember a certain duck who wa bragging about the number of the members of his group while majority of the giveaways started with "invite your friends".. I hate this. I hate to be spammed and even more I hate to spam my friends. Glad I'm not alone with this.
