By the way, Valentine's Day in Japan has become a day when women give chocolate to men, due to a marketing strategy by confectionery companies.
However, recently a custom called "tomo-choco" (friend chocolate) has emerged, where women exchange chocolates with each other.
In Japan, there is also a day called "White Day" (March 14), when men are expected to give a return gift. Moreover, there is a custom on White Day called "three times the return," meaning that men who receive chocolate from women must give back a gift worth three times the price of the chocolate.
The problem is that many Japanese women do not understand that "multiplying zero by three still results in zero," and they expect an expensive return gift...

interesting, i knew about white day, but i always thought that it was reversed, meaning that on valentines day men still give chocolate to women and on white day men receive a equal gift in return. I learned something new. Thank you :)
