I cannot really comment on it. I have the original game on Xbox360, supported and played/paid the DLC. It was okay, not anything I would want a remaster of, specially once all of the genitalia was taken out of it. All of that subliminal work, gone to waste. Game is fun regardless though. If you liked the original, you will still like the remaster. Depends on if you would want to pay more money though to play the same game... With less penis in it.

I played both and they suffer from problems like buggy AI, faulty hit detection, shuttering, camera blocked by environment (mostly trees), dips with fps, repetitive/annoying voice acting (sometimes you'll hear the same 5 people talk to each other or 2 character with same voice actor talk to each themselves) and crashes although auto-saves helps a bit. Don't let that discourage you, State of Decay is one of the best zombie games i played. There's a lot to do: fight zombies, recruit survivors, collect limited resources, build bases and die from zombies.
The original State of Decay is a xbox arcade live port which had a limit of 2 gb. It is better optimized, smoother, and less intensive on systems. It has however ugly character models, stretched character faces (stretched facial points to show emotions and speech), and a much more buggier at times (little to no hit detection with explosives, more invisible walls, random car flips.)
The new State of Decay is a xbox one port of a xbox live arcade remake and had no limit as it was a standalone game now. It had a better character models and some improved character animations, higher quality textures, better lighting and shadow effects, many minor bugs were fixed, (better hit detection with explosives, less invisible walls, better car motions) and new game play items (valuable drop pod that attract large amounts of zombies, new incendiary shotguns, new weapons and items: some brand new and others taken from the other dlcs.) It is less optimized, more prone to shuttering, more intensive on systems because of its higher quality and fsp dips when excess particles or debris or shadows are present.
Both are fun but the new State of Decay seems a bit new and needs more time to update and patch (wished they delayed it to better optimized it.) Also, remember this is Undead Labs' first game they're kinda new. The new State of Decay seems lacking compared to old one, it needs steam workshop support, patching, optimizing and maybe future dlc (hopefully free). I wish Undead lab included some more new content but all in all it's a great game. Hope this helped.

I've been seen quite a bit of bad reviews about the new edition.
For those that have played both, what's the pros and cons of each edition?
