Most time only expensive games are on a Fake Giveaway so go on the Creators Steamprofile if he doesn't owns the game it is often a fake. And if he is owning it and still a Fake shit happens you're getting the points for free so it's not soooo bad.

I suspect any AAA giveaway that is someone's first GA on the site. 99% of the time, they're not real giveaways (Yep, I've been tracking them!) I did decide to enter THIS (Shadow of Mordor) despite it being the creator's first giveaway, and not only won it, but actually received it! T_T So happy!
That newbie from a month ago is now at level 8.65... Yes, in ONE MONTH! :o Simply amazing generosity!
So, what I'm saying is that while most of the amazing GA's are not real (whether by trolls or by not understanding the site,) you'll still find yourself pleasantly surprised at times. ^__^

Yeah, exactly. There is no surefire way of telling if an ongoing GA is fake, but there are some rather obvious signs (new user giving away really expensive games is a big one). Of course, there have been cases when such GAs have not been fakes (genkicoll linked to one above)
