I was mildly interested after watching holo-deck 1.0 demo, but this takes the cake!

I'm a long-time follower of VR scene and MeanToBeSeen3D forum, even began building my own HMD (I quit the project 'cause of the cost of a MIPI>HDMI converter I can't really afford).
Seems many companies are into VR lately so I'm expecting consumer devices within 2 years.
Such a themed park is a big step (a bit too early for the current state of the art in my opinion), really hope more projects like this pop out like mushrooms :D

yup.. in abt 2 - 3 years the tech will evolve enough to be affordable too..
I'm just amazed in the direction technology is taking us :D
sorry to hear abt your HMD..I always think of such projects rather as on hold than abandoned forever

The problem is the MIPI port converter. Chinese display makers charge you something like 1k $ just for the project and won't take an order for less than 100 pieces/lot.
An HD display costs about 80-100$
Oculus used a Galaxy Note3 display (with MIPI>HDMI interface) to achieve the fullHD but they could afford its cost through Kickstarter.
DIY projects die at 1200x800 resolution which is definitely not HD and way lower than my aimed target, expecially if you have to split it to 600x800 per eye.

It's really awesome... but I'm always afraid of dying in the virtual world :|
That experience of getting killed in VR... what if someone actually died?
