PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X?

I think it depends. If you rarely play and want to play some damn good games when you do, I would go for PS.

If you are playing a lot and don't want to spend a lot of money on top of console, Xbox.

I prefer Xbox controller as well, but they are saying good things about haptic feedback. So I guess that evens them.

i Choose no one of them but the PC or at max the STEAM DECK Because the only purpose of these "BoxeStations" is to make you be a slave\fan of only 1 Store so that remove from you as a customer the Freedom to choose where to buy your videogames and by do so then force you to buy videogames at $69\99€ instead of maybe buy then at 15\25\45 in other Multiple Stores Deals (Steam,Epic,HB,Fanatical etc.)

BUT Xbox Series S and X has Xbox Game Pass at $1€ sometimes for sure can give me to play MORE games than the others consoles.

Playstation & Nintendo is habit to sell videogames at expensive prices around $69€\$99€ and they don't have a Rent\Subscription service like Xbox Game Pass that enable people to Download and Play games (Playstation has PSNOW but it SUX because it's a streaming service and also the graphic it run is minimum\low obsolete and don't allow to download\play games in local)

So for sure Xbox Series S or X willl give you play + Games at CHEAP thanks to Xbox Game pass

PC also has FULL Graphics settings this can be very helpful to run New games on your PC when you PC become obsolete by low or remove graphic that you don't like (Example if you don't like High Soft Shadows but like low graphi normal shadows by removve it you can gain FPS get 30\60 stable fps) but with consoles most of times you can't do this.
So in PC Graphic setting is UP YO YOU is mean you have total full control of it
in Consoles Graphic Settings is UP TO DEV is mean you have 0 control of it
Yes recently sometimes consoles give you to choose between Resolution\Performance\Quality pre settings but these or NOTHING it's the SAME because they don't allow you to choose the graphics one by one as you like\want and not allow you also to run new games in obsolete consoles.

Consider also the fact that
1) consoles force you to use BRANDED Controllers (you must buy a brand control of the console brand for every 1 console you have) vice versa in PC you can use ALL controllers
2)With consoles you is NOT allowed to Repair them
3)With consoles You is NOT allowed to TAKE CARE\DO MAINTENANCE to them,this is mean that after 1 year the Dissipator of your console and FAN too will start have DUST and so will start LOSE Dissipation and have Overheating Problems then the console will start to Broken for damage the Solder balls under the SOC\GPU\CPU and or other internal components as gpu vram etc. then the console will broken (First show you video artifacts or black screen then after broken)
Also in PC you can change the Thermal Paste when after 1-2 years it start to deteriorate\finish BUT in Consoles you can't because playstation\xbox\nintendo don't allow you to open the console and replace it,this is mean after 2 year when the thermal paste finish the console start overheat and broken because the dissipator don't do perfect contact with the soc and the fact that the PS5 has a different system of cooling with liquid metal etc. it's not mean that this will grand to be better many problems can occurs with that too.

So it is not matter if you pay your console 300\500 or also 1000 dollars\euro when it will broken will broken and u can't use it,and because these "BoxeStation" is done in a way to cheat people to an CLOSED software\hardware ecosystem you will not be able to can take care\maintenance\repair it.

ALSO these companies is habit to apply SECRET Soc\Mobo\GPUCPU keys\Codes to the hardware so that people can't replace it also if they desolder and resolder the component it will not work becausse the secret keys don't match (this can be fixed only with hacking but hacking is not allowed in most\many countries and this will avoid also the warrantly of the console)

With PC vice versa if a piece broken you can just replace it by yourself or repair it because all the Drivers is give to you for doing it and there is NOT paired secret keys\codes used.

Consider also that Reballing\Overflow services offered by "repair shops" it's sort of scam\fraud they can't fix this problem for longtime

Everytime a console has been released (if you not believe me you can go watch on youtube the OLD Conference) they is advertised as the most powerful consoles and blablabla and Twitter marketing accounts try make you feel like you are the only most important fan and you must buy their consoles but all these things it's LIES , because every 2-5 years a new console is released.
Playstation,Nintendo or Xbox too don't give a fuck about who buy the PS3,PS4,PS4PRO and then release the PS5 (Soon PS5Pro too) in the same way Nintendo not give a fuck about who buy the Wiiu Flop,The Wii and so on,and the same is for who buy the Xboxone then buy the XboxOneX but then release Xbox Series X (and maybe soon a new powerful consoles Xbox too)
So Consoles get obsolete very fast , in the same way of GPUs\Mobile\Tablets so i'ts not a good deal to buy them more frequently by believe the marketing lies.

i think the best deal is a PC + XboxSeriesS (Shitty graphic yes but enable you to enjoy xbox game pass games for cheap an savve money to NOT buy games you don't like by try them on XGP) + SteamDeck.

Fans that choose to buy the PS4\Xboxone then get a kick in their ass from Playstation\Xbox when after little months PS4Pro\XboxoneX is released
Then Fans choose to buy PS4Pro or XboxoneX and another time they get a kick in their ass from Playstation\Xbox for release PS5\XboxSeriesS\X
This will repeat soon then with PS5Pro\PS6 etc. too
So these people pay around $1800€ for buy PS3\PS4\PS4PRO and now must pay another $500€ for buy PS5 and soon another $500€ for buy PS5Pro and then PS6,with all these money just can buy\upgrade a PC,play Multiplatform PC games (that is selled more cheap than on PS\Nintendo Store and be HAPPY)

So it's not a good deal buy consoles at all anymore,consider also the fact that the EXCLUSIVES they release is very little quantity if compared to the Lifetime\Market Cycle of the console.
You buy a console,it release around 5 exclusives that is your taste and you like,and then that console has become already OBSOLETE because a new console + new controller is out.... so yyou buy a new expensive box for play only 5 games.. then that box become obsolete already and for new games exclusives the company ask you to buy the new console "next gen"

Also for who like SLOW games (Games as Fallout4,Sekiro,Astroneer etc.) and don't need to play Multiplayer or Fast games , it's not a BAD idea to just make a super cheap pc and then enjoy the XboxSeriesX\Nvidia graphic via CLOUD (play.GeforceNow.com,Xbox.com/Play,amazon luna (soon Netflix too) etc.)

i own all consoles + pc so i tell you this because i know and i'm able also to repair all them,but is a fact that these boxes is a fraud , just they want force people to buy games in 1 store,instead of allow them to use multiple stores with PC.

And personally i'm very happy that STEAM DECK has been released,i think this is not just an handled consoles,this is a REVOLUTION for try to fight this scam\fraud business o closedboxes.

The Fact that Nintendo (Zelda,mario,Metroid,Animal Crossing) and Playstation (Uncharted4,God Of War etc.)
Brainwash people brain to BUY a Playstation or Nintendo console by believe that they get something "SPECIAL" and that "NEED TO BUY IT FOR PLAY THEIR EXCLUSIVES" is just a Lie and a marketing\cheat tecnique.
You can play Phsyconauts2,YokaLaylee or an hat in time on PC (or steam deck) instead of mario
or
you can play Gears Of War 5 or Control on PC (or steam deck) instead of Uncharted4
and you will happy in the same way and will have fun in the same way
(maybe better too with better physic and graphic of cloud or pc)
Exclusives it's not really important as companies advertising,
1 game is 1 game
if it is exclusive or it is multiplaform not matter,
it will give you having fun play free time in the same way,
exclusives it's nothing special,it's software same others,
Only companies\brands playstation\nintendo try cheat people brain with marketing tecniques for force them buy it by use the excuse of exclusives.

Then ALL thi said,it's not mean that Consoles is NOT an useful Product
in my opinion XBOX Series S especially if with Xbox Game Pass in some cases can be useful\good deal

i already have a laptop and a switch, so the only japanese games i'm missing are stuff like 13 sentinels and sakura wars which are unlikely to get ported elsewhere

I think it depends on how good your PC is for games, as most if not all the best games on Xbox will be available on Windows as well.
Since I prefer gaming on PC I voted for PS5.

You used to buy things for exclusivity (i remember getting a ps2 for FF10) but 99% of console games come to pc too.

I have and prefer gaming on PC so I voted for PS5 only for its exclusives.

Personally I'm not much of a gamer these days, though like others here I'd probably go for a Steam Deck.

I do have a PS5 at home, so that wins. That's what my son wanted, and that's because of the exclusives. (He actually wanted more a new PC, but with GPU prices what they are it was much cheaper to get the PS5 at a somewhat inflated price than get a PC with comparable GPU performance. The PS5 was on his wishlist, just lower.) Personally I feel that Dreams is a strong exclusive, but in practice I haven't tried it, and my Son gravitated more toward Spider-Man, God of War and Uncharted 4 (the latter two are part of the PS Plus collection). He mostly plays Minecraft on the PC though.

I might also have bought a Series S as an upgrade to the One S that I own, but there's no way to transfer disc based games to it, so it won't work as an upgrade. Most of these games are Xbox 360 ones, which the One S supports.

Steam deck. Cause I am tired of need to buy extra games for every piece of technic I get. Never been interested in any playstation thanks to that

PS5, Sony's got the exclusives I care about.

Only reason to buy a console is for the exclusives it has, PS5 has the highest quality / most exclusives, therefore PS5

Two options:
1) You already have a PC and seek an addition: PS5 (or Switch)
2) You only can afford one system and want the best value for your money: Xbox with Games Pass.

Considering that you can have Game Pass on PC, Xbox Series is just a PC with more limited options: in-game ones, like graphics and such, and in scope and variety of games and apps available to you. Plus, while I would constantly shame PS5 for "generational approach" thing, they did add many improvements to their whole architecture and basic peripherals.

PS5 because they have more exclusives I care about.

Also XBOX exclusives get released on PC too these days, and since I already have a PC I can play those anyway.

You don't need an Xbox if you have a good PC if you ask me, so I voted for PS5.

to be honest i think the series x and s are the best way to game even better then a pc if you're on a budget , i mean you get the next gen experience + the huge library of game with the game pass and the series S can be turned to a beastly emulator machine , it can run ps2 games at native 4k 120 fps <3

Honestly, i think both are a good value. Personally i’ll probably go for the PS5 if the new Gran Turismo turns out to be good. Otherwise i’ll buy the new Xbox just for the backwards compatibility.

i would say if you have a good PC and want to get a console, PS5. if you have a bad PC and want to get a console, Xbox Series X is a better offer with Game Pass

honestly, theyre both great. choosing between them is all up to your situation.

if you had a ps4 and have a backlog, 99.9% of ps4 games are back compatible and many of them run much better on ps5 even without patches (games that originally had unlocked framerates have no trouble running in 60fps).
the ps5 controller is seriously cool. having owned a ps5 since launch, i still get excited about different games' using the triggers and haptics and its more ergonomic than the dualshock4.
its a beast console. it is also incredibly quiet (especially if you get the digital version). the gap between great pc graphics and the ps5 is much smaller than it was on ps4 and pc at the time.
the ssd is small but enough for 6-8 very large games. third party m.2 ssd's matching or exceeding the onboard ssd will be compatible in the expansion slot, but so far this is still in beta, but in the long term this means that it might be likely that these will be cheaper per GB than xbox's expansion cards.
Playstation first-party is unmatched in their reputation of having amazing games. the amount of 85+ metacritic games from them is crazy. they've mastered narrative in games and polish the f*** out of their first party games.

if you had ANY xbox its almost guaranteed that it will be backward compatible and improved, even moreso than the ps5 and without devs needing to patch their games for them to be improved (so lazy/ money hungry publishers' games are more likely to run better on the series s/x like ea games from the 360 era. EA, activision,etc are NEVER going to update those for free so having a better automatic solution at the console level is nice.
the xbox series controller is basically the same as the xbox one controller, which was already very nice. tons of controllers and peripherals from previous generations are fully compatible unlike ps5
GAMEPASS. since you already have a pc, you can get gamepass ultimate and have access to a shitload of games on your pc, your xbox, and (dont laugh) via xcloud. day one games, first party games, great indie games, a lot of EA games too. xcloud actually runs pretty well, with input lag that has been greatly reduced since the beta. if youre still skeptical, there are a lot of turnbased games available on cloud so quality of gameplay isnt sacrificed. gamepass is also confirmed to work on the SteamDeck, if that's something you were planning on getting.
Some xbox games are "play anywhere" which means that you'll get a free pc version along with the console version. like gamepass, cloud saves are reliable so you can bounce between xbox, pc and cloud and just pick up where you left off.
Xbox's ssd expansion cards have the advantage of working right out of the box. while the design is proprietary, microsoft has already confirmed that they've partnered with multiple 3rd party storage companies and will be rolling out different hard drive brands' versions of the expansion cards. because of this it is likely that microsoft could afford to compete on price with pc m.2 ssds but they could always keep a little bit of a monopoly on price for these. (their history in the last decade says they won't do this, it goes completely against their "good guy microsoft" strategy)
Xbox first party sucked on the xbox one, but after their shopping spree on bethesda and a ton of other studios, there will be good 1st party games coming, and a lot of them. they just havent fully ramped up to releasing a lot of them yet. the forza horizon series is the most fun racing games ive played since need4speed underground 2. they also have a pretty good lock on first person shooters with doom and wolfenstein, and they have more western rpg studios than sony has.
the xbox series x is also powerful af and so far i havent seen any meaningful advantage graphically between the consoles except that microsoft has much more 120fps games.

personally i got a ps5, because i simply can't live without their story based games and i already had a backlog of ps4 games that im still working through. I also have gamepass ultimate for pc and cloud because my wife got some free gamepass things from her job and i tried it and am in love with the service. for me, this is the best of both worlds, but it all depends on what your circumstances are and what you want to get out of the consoles
