We could compare games for god knows how long, but there is no point when everything influences others back and forth.
What you said could almost say to Darksiders as well, but really? Who cares, they all are enjoyable.
And Lords of Shadow had an amazing story with one of the best endings of recent times.

Right, the thing about being similar to other games are not at all condemnable. Example: The Binding Of Isaac is basically just a Zelda clone, only with some bizarre monsters and turds lying around in the dungeon which is now a basement. It didn't make it a bad game, and actually, it was one of the best games of last year, only topped by Bastion and Deus Ex: Human Revolution for me.
But when I think about Castlevania, all I remember is it's similar to stuff I enjoyed a while back, and that's it. It indicates the lack of outstanding fun I had with it, if anything. I don't say it's a bad game, but it's just way not memorable for me; I actually felt it being mediocre. If I have to compare it to something else, it's Vanquish; same mediocre and forgettable stuff for me.

I just hope they introduce the gear crafting from the Xbox Castlevania, i couldn't believe they produced such a basic game with Lords of the Shadow, and I'm a major castlevania fan back from the 64 on through. Just thought they could have done more.

Wow, who says PC gaming is dying? Dark Souls and now Castlevania? Sure, they're gimped ports, but it's the thought that matters, and we're getting more stuff incrementally. I wonder if this is because there hasn't been a new console in a while so the hardware is starting to get stale?
