Hello amigos!!
I´m looking for some recommendation for a digital boardgame. One that you can buy the full game and play (It sounds obvious but today is not so).

No microtransactions, no pay to win.
Can have some optional dlcs.
Solo playing is a must (but can have multiplayer)
Could be a card game but not one in where you need to play thousands of hours or pay to get all the cards.

I know/play some good ones like Talisman, Gremlings ink, Astral masters (an old card game), Armello, the witcher boardgame, card hunter, Warhammer 40,000: Space Wolf, etc

Thanks!!!

and here the GAs...

Would a digital boardgame that's based on a real boardgame count?

Seems pretty obvious, but it wasn't mentioned so, here goes: Tabletop Simulator

It's all the classic Tabletop games you know and love and more (added as workshop mods).

You don't need the DLC at all to play. It's all crafting materials, gold, and a legendary weapon for each player character - and you can get all that by playing normally. The only exception is the new Druid class, and it's just that - a new type of player character.

Oh, duh, I'm not sure why I didn't list this one -

WARTILE - I haven't dug too far into it yet, but so far I like it, and it certainly fits your single-player boardgame theme. :)

Antihero looks cool, I think. Haven't played it myself though. It's gifted quite often because it was in the Fanatical Nemesis Bundle 6

There have only been 7 giveaways for that game.

Oh, thank you! I didn't know you could search for giveaways like that. It was just my subjective view. Most of the buyers must have kept the game for themselves then. That means it's good, doesn't it? :D

On the PC: Ticket to Ride - fun solo play, optional multi-player, and optional DLC (though I highly recommend the Europe map, it's fantastic!).

Now, if you have access to an iPad, there's a wealth of digital games on there. My favorites are Ticket to Ride and Ascension, but there's also Bang!, Galaxy Space Trucker, and others.

Ticket to Ride is available on Android (and also on Kindle tablets), and you can link the accounts so you only have to pay for the DLC on one platform.

Oh, I didn't realize you could link accounts and avoid buying DLC twice. That's really cool.

Second mention for Solar Settlers, but Axes and Acres is also a very good Euro-style game by the same developer.

If you like Uwe Rosenberg games, a bunch have been ported:

Asmodee Digital has made it their business to adapt great board games to the digital platform. This link shows all of the board games and DLC that they are offering (or planning to offer) on Steam: http://store.steampowered.com/search/?publisher=Asmodee%20Digital

I can personally recommend Splendor, Carcassonne, Mysterium and Onirim.

Some other games you might enjoy:
Catan Universe (the digital version is free, but you'll need to make a 1-time purchase of $5 to enjoy all the features.)
Race for the Galaxy
Steam Rails to Riches
Bohnanza the Duel
Zooloretto
Le Havre

I haven't played the digital version myself, but love the physical one:
http://store.steampowered.com/app/337150/Sentinels_of_the_Multiverse/

Its a cooperative card game. Players play heroes each with a different deck (unlocked from beginning, no card collecting) and play style vs a villain deck, which plays its card randomly + an environment like the ruins of atlantis, which plays cards randomly as well . Its a multiplayer game, but works pretty well solo as well ( take control of 3 heroes yourself)

Base game is often on sale for 1$. There are lots of dlc, but try base game first.

Blood Bowl, Space Hulk or Chainsaw Warrior and their predecessors come to mind, all Warhammer-based. There's also Wartile, The Warlock of Firetop Mountain, Dark Quest, Gigachess, Into the Breach and Card Hunter, all more or less directly inspired by a board game or at least reminiscent of one. And, of course, Tabletop Simulator, with a ton of games attached to it. Everything else that comes to mind was already mentioned by others (I bet there's still some repeats and some great ones I've forgotten though :P).

Is Paradox strategy games like Europa Universalis counted? They also have traditional board game elements like rolling dices for battle.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

I'd say the scope of strategy games is too large to really fit what OP is looking for, especially titles such as those from Paradox. What might be more suitable are smaller scale tactical games. A few examples:

  • XCOM
  • Masssive Chalice
  • Invisible Inc.
  • Various Warhammer games - ranging from the smaller scale games like Sapce Wolf and Regicide up to Dawn of War
