I think you'd really enjoy this band called Portishead. The whole album called "Dummy" is great and I recommend it. Portishead - Numb

The first couple things that come to mind to advise when I heard this:
Sneaker Pimps
Kidneythieves

The Kidneythieves have some stuff a little harder and more industrial or "acid rock" I guess, but they are awesome. The Sneaker Pimps are probably closer to the same style, and were also awesome. They've been, sadly, defunct for a long time now though. I have a few other ideas as well, but most of them are slightly harder rock stylings, or are somewhat obscure bands that have been broken up for over a decade...
