Would be my vote as well. I have the game with all DLC except the last one. I'd love to see that one in a bundle though ;)

I honestly have been trying since it came out on steamgifts to win that game. It's kind of upsetting that I can't win one already.

You can buy it for just $1.

It's worth it at full price!

More than worth it at $2.50. You shouldn't expect more than 75% just because it was in a BTA tier. Some bundles are once in a lifetime deals, sorry you missed it.

Company of Heroes... ;D

Yes but it was a BTA game and not in any lower tier. If 75-80% off is not good enough for you then prepare to miss out on a great game.

1 decade ago
Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

It was BTA so it was $5 above, 2.50 is the lowest till now.

Lowest price was free! Last year on Amazon they gave you a $5 coupon if you bought during their Thanksgiving sale and it was possible to use the coupon on Hotline and get it free. The deal was totally slaughtered and there were pages and pages of it here - it was my first SG win so I remember it fondly. :)

It's not free if you have to buy something else to get it.

Don't know how you racked up $1000+ in CV and yet you're crying over a $2.50 game.

^^ This. If they were smart they would sell all episodes separately on Steam, with a scaling discount to those who own some already.

1 decade ago
Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

They wanted to sell episodes separately, but Valve was against it. And yes, they have a discount. If you have some episodes from bundles, you get 25% discount for each episode you. For example, if you'll buy 1 & 2 episodes at Groupees, you'll get 50% discount for full version.

1 decade ago
Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Nope, you won't get a discount for owning any of the other episodes. I have ep. 1 & 2, and I still have to pay full price for the bundle, and buying the bundle will give me 1 trough 4 with 1 & 2 going to my inventory to give away >:(

1 decade ago
Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Then they changed that, i bought Ep. 3 & 4 with a 80-something % discount when the game launched on Steam because i owned Ep. 1 and 2 already + 10% launch discount.

The fact that the loyalty discount was expiring is discussed here on the community hub with the developer chipping in at some point to say that they offer a bundle of episodes 3 & 4 in their store and you can get steam keys for them. The price is $15 which is a 50% discount on the regular steam price, so this is a continuation of the loyalty discount, just not directly on steam.

They also mentioned that episodes 3 & 4 would eventually be bundled, so if anyone is sick of eps 1 + 2 being bundled they can take comfort in the fact that soon they'll be replaced by eps 3 + 4. :)

1 decade ago
Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

yeah, the price for episodes 3+4 is $15 bucks which is more expensive than whole season pass on any Steam Sale;\

1 decade ago
Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

I take it you're assuming a 75% discount on a Steam sale and since this was only recently released it has only gone as low as 50% off which matches their store's every-day price (something they made a point of in the thread I linked to).

I kinda understand Croteam about those Sam sales. They really need funds for the SS4. At least they aren't doing the "pay 3 dollars for a gun/old map/flag/dogtags/skins etc." thing.

Some other games should get a chance of going on sale as well.

1 decade ago

every game gets their chance sooner or later, in which "later" means the seasonal sale on everything :)

1 decade ago
Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Games that are always on sale might as well stop pretending and just lower their prices.

1 decade ago
Permalink

Which is pretty much any Serious Sam game at this point

1 decade ago
Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

They'd make less money, this way they still get the occasional person who can't wait for a sale and then they get all the hype from being 75% or more off during a major sale. Basically, if you want to make great money on Steam always price your game way too high and do sales often =p

1 decade ago
Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Yes, being permanently on sale can make you more money than cutting your price.

People are more likely to buy a $10 game that is 50% off than a $5 game at full price. Steam sales have only exaggerated this practice, as there are now people who won't even consider a game unless it is 75% off, regardless of its base price.
