Welcome to the 2nd part of my little giveaway series for brainy ninjas.
Again you have to decode an encrypted key (VVVVV-WWWWW-XXXXX-YYYYY-ZZZZZ).
This time the key is for Super Meat Boy

Here are your hints:
V V H V V
W W W W 6
X X X A X
Y B Y Y Y
3 Z Z Z Z

Be quick and have fun!

Updated hints:
1.) The URLs are essential, my comments tell you where to look.
2.) You need a subway ticket to solve this puzzle and to get around in NYC.
3.) Go to the source, you can take a shortcut using ctrl+u or alt+v,c
4.) Smileys can tell you a secret, but they can only say yes and no.
5.) <=Enter, to bring order in the textblocks

I believe it should be quite easy now.

The wanted key is 25 characters long and some parts are not encrypted. So this is clearly not the key

New hints for a new day

Hmm. I've got a pretty good idea as to what you're looking for, but I can't quite get the last few characters. Four of the hints are obvious, but I can't see anything strange to do with hint #3.

Going to the source might show you that there is more to my comments than the naked eye can see

1 decade ago
Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

I thought it would be that, but I can't find anything hidden in the source. The only thing I noticed was the code for putting your text on a new line without a blank line

like this.

Try it on this comment and maybe you will get an idea what you have to find.

I did spot one little thing you do in some of your comments that you don't normally do, but... I can't see a way to get an alphanumeric character out of it.

Okay here is the ultimate hint :)
Search the source for []( and you should find something (its square bracket open, square bracket close, round bracket open).

I will be offline for a few hours, if no one has figured out the code when I'm back, I will post it in this thread.

Woah. "[](" is not found when I search the source code. And I know what you're referring to with the "[](". That should be obvious, but I'm not seeing anything. Maybe there's something wrong with the way I'm viewing the source. Weird...

Edit: I hid some stuff in this post. I can see them in the source, but I don't see anything in yours... I'm freaked out right now.

Edit again: I think I might have figured out why I can't see anything. To test it, could someone look at the source code for my post? If you see "<a href="http://www.ihavehiddenthreethingsinthispost.canyouseetheothers.com">" but not "[] (Testing)" or "[] (XXXXX-XXXXX-???X?-XXXXX-XXXXX.)" (without spaces between [] and ()), then my theory is right, if you can see all three, then my theory is wrong.

When you put something [like this] (http://www.google.com) but without the space it becomes the <a href=... thing in the source. But when I put something that didn't start with http://, like [test] (test) without the space it shows up in the source as [test] (test) without the space. However, when I tried using another computer that was not signed into Steam Gifts, it did not appear in the source at all. Therefore, my theory is that if you put in something like this [] (test) but without the space, it will only show up in the source for the user who posted it. :)

Here's another test. Every word in the previous sentence is typed and shows up in the source for me [like] (like) [this] (this), but without the space.

Thats really strange. I can't see your [] (Testing) or [] (XXXXX...). So this seems to proof your theory, but even though I am at a friend on his computer I still can see my "hidden" links.
If your theory is true its clear why no one has solved the puzzle and I'm sorry for this.
But as far as I know I am not the first one to use this method to hide text.
However, to end this "drama" here is the key, now for simple ninjas ;)

As compensation I will make a new puzzle next weekend. Maybe an easier one :P

Woah, I got it! Thank you so much! Why did it go unclaimed for 50 minutes?

Regardless of the hidden link thing, this was an extremely clever puzzle (and if you can see them on a friend's computer, I must not be completely right). I especially liked the way the letters line up in the pastebin.

Congrats. I hoped you would win it if I only posted the key in the reply to you and not in the OP. You invested enough time in the puzzles to earn the game. I hope you have fun with it.
And the ASCII art was also my favorite part in designing the puzzle.
