I'm still deciding on my WL reqs, so kinda all the options you've listed. Also, while cool people are cool people and I love adding 'em to the heart team, I also usually try to keep off people with over $1000 real value of games won. Still do sometimes, but I think it's nice if newbie underdogs get a sporting chance :)

I sometimes check how long they've been around as well. I mean everyone can go through financial tough times, but if you went 7 years on SG without a single gib that is a bit sad D:

It works the other way too, if someone's been winning in 7 years but never gave D: I know the struggle but I do think there's also a lot of ways to give even if you have no moolah.

I use WL option since 3 weeks, and I WL all, really: funny? WL. Nice GA? WL. "Thanks" for my GAs? WL. Marked as received? WL. Puzzle? WL. WL? WL.

I've WL'd people for all of those reasons at one point or another. Though I'd say my main "criteria" would be nice conversations/threads or just by observing them generally be civil and nice presence around the site. If someone has an amazing ratio but is being rude then that sort of attitude has kept them off of my WL. Not that it would be a big loss for anyone since I've only done like a handful of WL giveaways. :P

I usually whitelist people if they play the game they have won.
What makes me a good whitelist candidate is that I try to play my wins. Got a bit behind lately but will try to catch up.

I only just recently started adding people to whitelist and for the most part it ends up being who WL me first. I do also have some who havent whitelisted me but then that means its either a friend or someone who I think does alot of good for the sg community

yeah same, its the same with whitelisting its just started to happen. before last two months my most with comments was 20. so while i got to recognise some people by quick glances it wasnt until lately i got to know people more

I WL people after starting to recognize them in the comments always giving off good vibes, if they make me smile, and usually when they WL me first. I've not set up enough WL giveaways for that to really matter yet for my whitelistees, but I'm always schemin' :P

I WL people I like, people I know from elsewhere (and like them :P ) and also those who WL me, aaand, dunno find their posts cool.
So from that pov this wouldn't be the best idea, as I could, let's say, pretend I'm not an idiot and then get on your good list and then do nefarious stuff, not that I would. Or not that I'd tell you this if I intended to do that, unless it was a double-thick maneuver.

I blueheart people who are awesome (whatever that means...^^) and especially people who play lots of their won games, because what are they for if not to be played (at least good games...shovelware is ok to collect dust)? :)

I whitelist for a variety of reasons, the main one being seeing people persistently helping others and being nice in general. As to why I should be on everyone's whitelist? Well that's easy, because I love murder machines of course.

If I remember someone as a friendly person or when I do some "tests" in GAs I use my wl.
People with a good are often also active in the community and If they do great Giveaways it's even better. But that's not the reason I would Whitelist someone. I also never whitelist someone just because I got a whitelist from the person...
Overall my list is not that big and I remove people from time to time just because of the time they spend on the list.

there is a script that let you tag the persons you white/ or blacklist.

So I put up my first WL-only GA and I have about 88 people whitelisted. No idea if that's a lot or not, but I'm always looking to expand! I chose a game I enjoyed before I joined Steam, Beholder, and I hope others may enjoy it as well. If you're on my WL you can obviously see it on my profile already, and if not, you may be able to soon! (It runs for about 2 weeks so there's time <3 ) For being so kind to even have a look at this, I'll just leave this here for you to have a peek at.
I hope I will be able to provide a few more neat GAs in the future, and especially to find something that my blue hearts will enjoy. It's been almost a year since I joined SG and I've been having a lot of fun! In the meantime I'll do my best to keep on giving what I have to spare for you all <3 But enough of the blue cheese.
