So I live in the great US, but I know I can go to steam from other countries such as Russia.

http://store.steampowered.com/?cc=ru

They have many games cheaper (equivalently) than US games. Are there region restrictions where if I buy off of the Russian store, I cant play the game here? Is this even legal? Have you actually tested it? Thanks. I thought about testing it on Fortix, but I dont have much money left.

Also if the answer is no, would it be beneficial to one to find a russian friend and trade with them? And also if so, would the game be different? Possible in Russian language or something?

People always seem to forget that or they don't care. Personally, i don't want to lose 100+ games just to save a few bucks

Just stop at "everywhere is region restriction except us and you cant buy" unless you want to get banned. fyi

Check the IDs - if they match for US and for RU store, you can go for it.
