Some help for DayZ?

I'm pretty new to this stuff and some of my friends say that I need to update my DayZ. My version is 1.7.6.1.. I have updated my ARMA 2:OA.. now?

DayZ is a pain in the ass with almost daily updates either for the map,for DayZ,for Arma or if you use an updater for the updater.

However,I had good experiences with DayZ commander. Easy to update everything and keeps track on the latest versions. Also has a downgrade option,sometimes a version comes out that is not used on many servers or not stable.
