Can confirm that the "Witcher: Enhanced Edition" offer that comes with signing for Gwent's Beta is still active as of March 1st. Just got their email with the code for the beta, and proceeded to redeem the game (if you're having trouble finding it, remember to activate the offer first on Galaxy and then checkout on the site through the game's page, which should now display as free).

I didn't have to click on any of the links from here. I just followed the instruction by adding GWENT to my GOG account. After that I simply logged on from the GOG Galaxy app and an option came in to claim for a free Witcher game. I clicked on that and the price became free and I added to cart and it was in my library instantly.

Thanks. Yeah I'm glad I got it. Back then I ignored the offer many months ago by Ars Technica when it was on offer for free. I didn't have a GOG account back then and was too lazy to create one. I still decided to attempt this trial yesterday by downloading GWENT.
To my surprise this offer is still working and I was offered the Witcher 1 for free. GOG did not take it down yet even after 9 months since you posted this thread. Edit: Actually over a year ago since you posted! October 2016! :D

i got it too
i used the galaxy only client from the website, and not the gog galaxy installer that comes with gwent , and didnt have to download 4gb to install gwent.
Just went to the gwent game after i installed the gog client and then i got a subscruption button for cards or something and i got witcher 100% discount

Download the GOG Galaxy App. The GWENT game is still in beta. Then there should be a box to the right inside the Galaxy App that says to claim Witcher for free. Click on that and the price should drop to 0 and just press to confirm the purchase when you add it to Cart. It will be free and it will immediately appear in your GOG Library.

BTW they gave me Witcher 2 for free when the closed beta ended. But I assumed that was something else because you guys are getting Witcher 1.
I even tried registering a new account, but I still don't get anything.

The Steps:
1.) Register for the Closed Beta here: https://www.playgwent.com/
2.) Download and Install GOG Galaxy after you received the email with the invite: https://www.gog.com/galaxy
3.) In the GOG Galaxy client, on the Gwent installation page, you will se a yellow box, letting you know of the offer, click on it.
4.) Subscribe to the newsletter for the cards, and the game, checkout, play
