Community VAC for a comment on another profile to notify the key was region restricted

Well, that, i got a community VAC because i commented on the user profile that made the giveaway that the key i won wasn't working because it was region restricted.

Looks like the word "giveaway" triggers the VAC system.

This is fairly common, you can appeal calmly to Steam support and your ban should be reversed.

The automod that valve has triggers with a lot of basic things nowadays... Words like "you won", "SG", "giveaway" on another user profile gets you a community ban always, but at least they reverse it...

I really hope they do because the ban would be totally unfair, i didn't even posted a link, and i never met a scammer that didn't sent a link to a sketchy website.

If this was a automated word filter ban then you have nothing to fear Steam Support will unban you within 1-2 days

I made the ticket anyway. Not fearing anything but this gives me such a bad mood, like, at least put in the detection that the comment needs to have a shady link to ban someone.

You literally have to avoid common words because you can get banned.

pretty sure SG isn't a trigger, it will be the things scammers commonly use on that filter.

i typed it wrong, if you type SG itself it's okay (unless you say on that steam profile "you won a game/something on SG", because of the "you won" thing it WILL trigger) but if you type "steamgifts.com" and all it's variants like steam gift, steamgifts, gift, it will trigger 99% of the time yes

I literally won't write nornal comments never again after this, if such common words triggers the bot to ban me, it's literally a Russian roulette whether if you get banned or not.

Good to hear!
In the future try commenting on the giveaway of the creator, or you can check their wins - many people say thanks, so you can reach them even if they blacklisted you for whatever reason.
(Or ask somebody to relay a message on their giveaway, many of us are glad to help in communication issues)
