Would you support a system to PM (message) a user through steamgifts.com?
I (almost) never change my name on Steam ... and even if I do I usually keep "Mush" and "Clone" in the name.

I'd rather say "No". It seems convenitent, but then I think about all these nice people - moderators and top contributors, which would be just spammed by tons of messages from people with problems/questions/begging for games... I don't think they deserve it.

it was suggested over and over in the past and the answer was always no.
Beggars, Phishing links, refferal links, mass advertisement spam, support getting tons of PMs "when will you resolve my ticket" and so on and on - atm at least you're able to just ignore the invitation on steam, on SG you would just get spammed and spammed. And inb4 "well, report and suspend spammers" - one good free weekend = spamming bot can get hundreds of SG accounts, you ban one he will jump to another.

Where's the point of adding a condition, let's just make it automatic.
Let's let a time to attempt to justify. Let's say after ¿1 month? of an account being perma-banned it should be removed from all blacklists, to accommodate space for more.

[...] nor do I like using e-mails.
Why don't you like using e-mails? In today's world? Everyone is using them, it is easy, it is clean, you have everything saved on a safer server than the Steamgifts, I can't really come with a reason why would they be bad...
People, whether I know them or not, change their steam name often, and it's hard to keep track sometimes.
You know that Steam added a future especially for these friends? You can tag a friend with your own name that is easier for you.

I don't like adding people on steam, nor do I like using e-mails. I don't like a crowded steam friends list. People, whether I know them or not, change their steam name often, and it's hard to keep track sometimes. It makes sense where a website that's heavily involved in trading as well as giving away games directly to other people would have a way within the website to communicate to that person.
