Which tier will you choo-choo-choose?

View Results
[Tier 1] My train is rather short: just the Locomotive and 5 cars.
[BTA] Seems there's some extra carriages on my ticket.
[Tier 3] Full Steam ahead, and a cowcatcher up front!
[Have] Don't ask. Just don't.
[Skip] I'm outta here faster than you can say "Shanghai Maglev".
[Complaint] Out of 616 DLCs, do you really think we're satisfied with only 18 of them?

I like that it's now sorted in bundle categories but it seems to need some adjustments... right now this bundle is visible only in the homepage.

Train simulator is always sold as a package and when they change the name year they change the DLCs that come with it so technically counts as unbundled

Exactly. Bought the first tier and activated the base game for three more DLCs to go with the 5 with their own keys. I now have 29 DLCs for that game. :P

hah yeah i never realized that either until looking at this. rachart extension said i owned train sim 2021, and i was confused as to how that was possible.. then i checked the steam page. i guess if it's not broke then don't fix it.. keep on pumping that dlc. apparently it's working for them.

Scroll down below the main chart (where it says "Train Simulator 2021 is one key that activates the following:"), they are already listed there.

Looks like today's the day of the niche bundles I have no interest in. First HOG on Fanatical, now choochoos on Humble.
I'll just keep playing my immense backlog and be grateful for that.
Thanks Lilly ;)

WARNING: Apart from the 3 routes that come with the base game, all DLC's are locomotives. These come with scenarios for certain routes, but most (all?) locomotives are NOT for the 3 included routes!!!

...in other words, you'll need to buy routes for them later :D

There's a thing called 'quick drive' for which they can be used. But certainly to start, people probably find it easier to just pick a scenario.

So? There are millions of CD's and DVD's. Never heard anybody make a statement like that about them. Nobody forces people to buy any or all DLC. I think TS fans are happy that they have a large CHOICE of DLC! (Though still limited to the US, UK and Germany...)

I think VahidSlayerOfAll reacted to the statement from Csontzuzo about having Ignored all 600+ DLCs on steam, not complaining that there are 600+ DLCs.

Guess a minor thing but still weird to sell it in the first place without it.

Notice: This Add-On requires that you already own the Cologne-Dusseldorf route in order to play all of the routes.

Does one give Dovetaile no money and all to charity because their DLC milking but yet risk them not putting more DLC in future bundles? Hmm.

Activated this game in 2013 and it says I already own it, because is the same game, they just rename it every year or so.

Welllll, as much as people (myslef included) have issues with Paradox's DLC model, Dovetail's DLC model puts them to shame. Or, from the other perspective, Paradox is an absolute angel when compared to Dovetail.

616 DLC is pushing it. Just slightly. 🤑 (ಠ_ಠ)

Today I learned that steam only shows the first 200 DLC on the store page. 🧐

It kinda makes sense. There is one application to run the an rpg game. And rest are individual pieces of content translated to it.

Like you would have reader application and then books. Or movies. Or music tracks. Or comic books. You wouldn't expect all of them to be include. Specially when they are made by other companies.

But none of them are needed to play and enjoy the game they just add more trains and maps, unless you're a train fanatic you won't feel the need to buy the DLCs .

Well, to be fair, when buying a real train set, each piece would be considered a DLC too lol.

this year's TS bundle is incredibly disappointing. They provide engines without the associated routes (necessary to do the scenarios for those engines). At least last year, they provided routes for the engines they bundled. The routes provided this year, however, do not correspond to the engines from this year.
