I was wondering if anybody knows if the keys from GMG for Dead Rising 2, Dead Rising 2: Off the Record or Lost Planet 2 work in other countries? I know Russia can not buy Dead Rising 2 on the Steam store. I was going to purchase the games for some giveaways but want to make sure they will work everywhere.

Out of curiosity, is LP2 a great game?

I played it on Xbox, it was pretty slow and boring imo.

It lacked the greatness of the first one but I just like to play games so it didn't bother me. Lack of a campaign story sucked.

Just making sure you know: Those games uses GFWL which I believe has some region restrictions. Not sure what country it applies to, just making sure you know

I can't buy DR2:OR from steam, cuz of restriction. But some time ago I won a Alienware giveaway of DR2:OR and it works just fine.

If you were giving away keys that were region specific - DE Saints Row keys as an example you may have a problem however it is the responsibility of those entering giveaways to not what isn't available in their region not yours. If they enter a giveaway for something they can't use that's not really your problem as you were still provoding what you said you were

It is the giveawayer's problem:

"Do not submit CD-keys that require VPN activation or methods to bypass regional restrictions."

Well, actually the SR3 DE key is activatable everywhere in the world and only the normal SR3 needs a non German IP.

..and with the fact that Steam-gifts work well, we all know how much sense this system makes...

From what i have been able to find, if the key is not restricted, then anyone amywhere can download from steam regardless. They might not be able to purchase, but can still recieve as a gift. I was checking up on Risen which is banned here is Australia.

So I just found out you can't buy more than 1 copy of the game with the same Paypal on 2 different accounts. My friend wanted to buy me a LP2 key, turns out he couldn't do that.
Well, too fucking bad, we just wanted to BUY a video game for our personal computers (a.k.a. give money to you). Fuck you, GMG or Capcom or whoever is in charge and made the decision to essentially disallow GIFTING. Piracy, oh, I'm glad you will always be there when we need you.
