It's far way better than the BF 3 crap they released after.
The best thing about that game is what you can do with the freaking C4 lol, in the last few days i played i basically just planted C4 around some building or something and stood still hidding in some other place while looking at the building, when someone showed up i'd just blew all that shit. I love these "traps". That and planting it on tanks (in the sides) and wait till the enemy gets it ahahahah seriously, its awesome.
or with the squad bikes, planting c4 on them and trow them at the last minute near a tank ahah

The biggest thing I hate about BF3 is honestly the server browser, why couldn't they just stick with the good setup of BC2, or practically all military shooters?

That and the whole BF 3 cenario. And the fact that it seems to lag all the time, like when you shoot at the enemies and they dont die, or when your running from fire and when already behind a wall they kill you anyway and your character like goes back in time to the same spot before the wall lol ridiculous.
oh..oh..and the bugs, of course. Bugfield 3, that's what they should name it in the first place.

i haven't played it at all this week or 2 but i do play it occasionally (maxed out Assault and Sniper), there are still hundreds of servers up and it's not hard to find a full game at all.
Just get Bad Company 2 for now, i heard there's not at much action on Vietnam but i could be wrong.

hundreds of empty servers in USA. Usually only 8-12 populated servers here.
I go and play on Europe servers and deal with lag cuz I like the game. 30+populated servers.
I mainly play Conquest, so other game modes may be more populated.
I like BC2 better than BF3.

i'm playing from Canada so can't say anything from USA, but i can get around 100+ populated servers usually, mostly CQ and Rush with the occasional SDM.
I prefer BC2 as well but I like the class system in BF3 a lot better, if we got the best of both worlds i'd be more satisfied than i already am.

There's not a lot of players for Vietnam anymore, so it's not really possible to play any map you desire at all times.
The base game is still crowded and still much more fun than BF3. I'd actually pick BC2 over BF3 any time.
