yepp they fucked up something since they added the ddos protection. as i wrote above there are lots of errors happening when clicking the button.
From the Browser Console: Access to XMLHttpRequest at 'https://gateway.kinguin.net/dej/api/v1/public/promotion/active' from origin 'https://crazyweekends.kinguin.net' has been blocked by CORS policy: No 'Access-Control-Allow-Origin' header is present on the requested resource
So basically they host the promotion on a different url. And the request is send to the main kinguin site. But that request is bugged.

I think it depends of kinda internet connection. When im using phone as a mobile hotspot, i can take everything, except when the orange button doesnt work (2 times, and always origin). But today when i was on another computer with cable modem i havent even seen any of the giveaways.. Now when im again with mobile hotspot, i just refresh and click, and every game goes to my collection..

i only see a penguin with a crown and a clock and the following message: all games frpm the last drop have been claimed. Next drop incoming soon. Is this what shows up to you guys too? When does the new game drop and whats the link?

It drops every hour on the hour and lasts only for a couple of seconds, so when it reaches upon the new hour like 8:00, then just spam refresh until you see a game and click claim quickly.

If you can't handle the frustration of not getting a free game during a giveaway on a website that is certainly not meant to deal with bots + people spamming F5 for a whole minute, I encourage you to not even give it a try and to not check that topic either.
The frustration and salt doesn't justify some statements regarding the website, describing the giveaways as being "scams" (do you even know what it means ?) or the event as being fake or shit or [insert here random ineptie] because you cannot get a free game from it.
Yes there are a lot of bots AND people spamming the page, yes it's uncool to have the claim button not working or not even showing but it's only normal and happens in every single event of that sort.
Instead of attempting to find a target here to throw your frustration at, go outside, pet a dog, eat an ice cream, do something that make you happy. Coming here for ranting won't make you earn more game or lower your frustration.

yes it's uncool to have the claim button not working
I think the button works but it just hangs indefinitely due to the extreme amount of concurrent requests over the span of a few seconds their servers are probably hammered with. Thus it gives the impression that it's not working.

As I've said before:
"Sorry, folks, but the only way to enjoy this event (and I do still enjoy it) is to treat it as a double lottery. First part of the lottery is to even see the claim button (I think, I've succeeded twice in the last 6 or 7 draws); the second part is for your claim to get processed before the keys run out (no luck for me both times).
Sure, they could run it in a better way, but this does not mean, that just because Kinguin gives away some games for free, any of us is in any way entitled to expect, that they will be given to us, not to someone else.
If you really disapprove of the way in which they run their business, there is just one decent way to voice it - just boycott it."
