Crazy free weekends [Free Games]

Wtf? Are we only allowed 1 game, period? I thought it was 1 per hour. Ever since I claimed 1 game yesterday, this is what I get whenever I try and click the claim button.

i could be that you where to late. Or it could be that some cookies are messing things up. So what i do is empty cache and cookies and relog every hour. Just to prevent problems.. no idea if that helps

You can claim more than one. I guess the problem is they ran out of keys but didn't remove the button

The issue wasn't just that I couldn't claim the game, it's that I was able to reload 4 more times and still be able to click the claim button. Same error, every time.

I tried a chat session with a Kinguin rep and the best I got was "I will forward your feedback." Horrible customer service too, by the way. Told me it was because they'd run out of keys, but when I asked how I was still able to see the game after reloading several times if that was the case, he dodged the question and said he didn't have any direct control over the giveaway. I mentioned I wasn't the only one experiencing this issue, and that some people were getting the error without even having claimed a game, but he didn't seem overly concerned. Essentially, they "can't do anything as we haven't gotten any reports about this other than yours." So I guess if enough people complain they'll maybe do something about it?

Long story short: it sucks when it happens but it's normal.

The answer is simple. The page is cached for obvious reasons and you get the cached version until the cache is invalidated. And, since it's a first come, first served promotion, seeing the page and the button doesn't guarantee getting it. Depending on the network, the speed of the browser, other technical factors and the time it takes you to click that claim button there could have been countless other claims from other persons (or even bots), thus taking your spot. At the moment the cached version was generated there were keys available and due to the nature of the cache, the delivering speed under stress load comes at the expense that the content can become stale anytime until the invalidation takes place.
In other words, at any point in time you're seeing the past version of the page and how far behind that past really is dictates the corner cases you're noticing.

I keep refreshing and at best when I finally get the button is says it's over when I click it. It last 5 seconds per hour.
