Not that version, per say. The version I heard had most of the one I provided but none of the sound font over it.

Still close but a little more drums and bass. Less soft tones.

I think the midi file is correct, I think it might be the player that might be the issue. If I'm correct, midi files essentially has a standard instrument set, and you can use whatever sound font you want that implements those instruments to play the midi file. Just as an example, take the file from above and try to play it using this by importing the midi file: https://www.onlinemidi.com/Editor.php
You'll notice it sounds different

Any chance it can be found on this channel or its associated website?

Were you by chance listening to midis that were altered by a program called Wingroove back then? Wingroove was the first program i ever experienced that significantly altered the sound of midi files, and it was always my favorite. It could be that you already have the right midi file, but are just missing the right 'soundfont' as some call it. If you can remember having used Wingroove in the past, thats probably whats missing.
Supposedly someone has made a soundfont out of Wingroove, have not tested it myself but might be worth taking a peek at if you find you are specifically looking for that. https://www.vogons.org/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=55060
EDIT: Also when it comes to midis, each different soundcard back in the day made them sound totally different. The Soundlaster AWE 32 had the best sound of any my soundcards back then.. however its ISA slot requirement meant it was basically incompatible with any motherboard past ~2000. Soundblaster live had a different and much less rich sounding midi sound, but was the first card i owned that introduced its own soundfonts, which were neat, but still didnt compare to what Wingroove was doing so i mainly stuck with that for quite a few years.

I'm not sure if this will help, but: Midi files aren't sound files. They are rather a list of commands for the sound card to make - thus it will end up sounding very differently with each sound card you try. So if it sounds a bit off, you might just have the correct file, but not the sound device you have had back in the day.

A long, long time ago, in an internet far, far away, there was an old and now defunct music site that had a midi file that I loved to listen to. But over time I lost my downloaded version and I can NOT find it anywhere.
This is the music but I want it without the sound font over it. Can anyone please help me find it?
Heres a small GA as thanks.
