Decent Gameplay, maybe a bit too simple minded quite honestly. There's a lot of series in it though.
Overlooked game, but combat is very basic. Weapon and Armor looks don't change when you equip them either, so that's a bummer. But it's still very fun to play.

Eh, Star Ocean is a good game if you've played the older series. If you haven't you don't really need to.
Great game, beaten it twice already.
If you haven't played the Breath of Fire series you should give this one a try.
Sadly there aren't many JRPG's, this isn't really one. Very similar to the Disgaea series except it's real time fighting. Definitely tops as one of my favorites.
Good luck finding this one. Kind of a washed down version of Fire Emblem with cute girls, but a fun game. I enjoyed it.
I'm assuming you played the blatantly obvious ones like Disgaea (not really a JRPG, but the Ps3 is seriously lacking JRPGs) and YS. Nier also isn't too bad, but I wouldn't really consider it JRPG.

Avoid this OP, nosef is obviously high on peyote. Star Ocean 1 & 2 are the only good ones, everything else is generic jrpg horsepoop.

Look at the games the OP said they played. Obviously most are JRPG's so I limited my RPG knowledge to them. There's a reason I said play Star Ocean if you only played 1 & 2, it's because people don't really enjoy the combat system how the game is like. I'm not saying it's the best in the series, but it looks as though he's looking for choices on games to play, try not to be as biased as possible.
Calling everything else "generic JRPG horsepoop" and listing Eternal Sonata as one of the games you recommend doesn't help your case as I've already listed that. I'm pretty surprised you didn't like Resonance of Fate and Valkyrie Chronicles, they had some of the best stories and the combat system was just amazing.
It's fair to say that Ar Tonelico & Hyperdimension are pretty generic with a lot of fanservice. But Ar Tonelico as a series and as a game was great, plus I love all the songs! (though that's person preference). You're entitled to your own opinion, but at least explain why some of the games are bad instead of calling them generic (although you did give good reason for Star Ocean) because quite honestly, Final Fantasy and the Tales series are pretty generic themselves.

Ys: Origin and Ys: Oath in Felghana are some of the better jRPGs I've played on PC. Especially Origin. They've even ported Ys 1 and 2 to the PC. Excellent story and pretty solid gameplay. I also found Recettear to be an enjoyable RPG / management sim type of game. Those are the only ones that come to mind off the top of my head for Steam/PC.

Demon's Souls and Dark Souls. I know they aren't traditional JRPGs, but From Software is a japanese developer and DS + DkS are hands down the best RPGs on PS3.
