I am speechless.

Slime Rancher 2 just got announced. Go wishlist it, the devs deserve it.

While waiting for it to release, you can enter a GA for my favorite game of all time. (Level 5)

Thanks, even though I couldn't qualify (I love adding games I want to follow to my wishlist, so my wishlist is more like a dump).

Dang another time I regret using steam wishlist to filter SG giveaways. :P

Oh no. I remember how much time the first one consumed.
I don't think I can survive a second wiggly adventure.

And here I thought Slime Rancher's biggest weakness was its short length compared to other games in its genre. That's why this announcement was so unexpected for me, because this game is their passion project (in addition to being their golden goose I suppose) and they were working on new (free!) updates to make it better. I thought for sure that they would continue to expand SR while maybe doing a new project. But I can't complain, Slime Rancher 2 is looking great from what we've seen so far :)

Thanks for the info.

I would like your custom sgtools rule more when they would be <1100 Games because (Picture below)
That, half, joke needed to be done :-D

Aw that sucks D: I'm doing this rule because I want this game to go to someone who wants it while not adding just whatever to their wishlist. I even thought about doing lower than 1000 but decided to try this limit out.

I did watch the reveal and they really do look great, but I'll have to avoid all news for the game now somehow to avoid getting spoiled. I really loved discovering new slimes in the game and I want to go into SR2 completely fresh.

I don't really trust preorders but I'm going to have to preorder this one if they do them.

Wait, have I just been playing the game all wrong? I remember at some point the game became a tedious grind for me of running around feeding & harvesting, watching the exchange for good prices, and then I found some areas where it became what felt like a hardcore platforming game or racing game (neither of which I'm very good at). At that point I just stopped. I think there was also some sort of definitive soft-ending, however I can't even recall that.

Just want to know how to enjoy that game more! :D

Hm, I was going to say something about seeing the charm in running around and getting progress but then I see your 300 hours in Stardew Valley (respect) haha. Maybe sometimes a game just doesn't click even though you should be able to like it. For example I love my farming sims and the like but I just can't progress in My Time at Portia or Graveyard Keeper (right now anyway) even though there's nothing wrong with the games.

The slimes also contribute. I love adorable things and I had a blast exploring the Slime Rancher world and meeting new, cute slimes in addition to the ranching. The platforming/racing minigames didn't really bother me, they're extra content anyway.

I wouldn't say the Slime Rancher ending is really an ending. If you get to the location furthest away the credits roll but it's not like it matters since you just continue as usual after that.

Thanks! :D

To tell the truth, playing Stardew Valley was more of an unhealthy desire in me to find all the things in the game - the "progression" part was a nightmare of a grind, so maybe that's it: I just like exploration & discovery games vs. running around + progress games. :)

And that would certainly explain why I spent so much time on Oblivion!

I don't think you're missing much. Seems like more of the same. Most of the negative reviews say it's basically a dlc instead of a sequel. It looks exactly the same as SR 1 and there's no real new features.

The one feature a lot of people wished for in SR 1 was co-op play because you were all by yourself and it could get lonely but SR 2 is not going to have any kind of multiplayer either. Doesn't sound like much of a sequel to be honest.
