21 in the US. Because at 18 you can do basically everything else, like go off and fight a war, but drinking a beer is an action that requires 3 more years of maturity and contemplation.

Look at the bright side, at least those who go off to fight a war can also vote now. That didn't use to be the case either.
Maybe some day they'll raise the minimum fighting age instead, wouldn't that be something? :-)

Thanks so much for doing this, repeatedly. It's so generous, and so... noble (I say that half-jokingly, half-seriously). It's admirable that you're driven by the belief that everyone should try this game and you give people the chance to do that. It's the first time I've been able to take part. I just missed it this past Christmas, and that's when I finally found out what it was. The funny thing is that I'd seen the thread title here and there before, and I wondered what it meant, but each time I just didn't check for whatever reason and kept passing it by.

Not that generous -- it really helps that the games are very cheap on a sale. My life would look very different if I was convinced everyone should play, say, A-Train 9. The Portal games are probably the only ones where I both think they ought to be played by anyone at least once, and cheap enough to actually go out and get them.
