Unpacking games restricted in your country?!

As far as I know, gifts aren't region restricted. So you'll get all the games in the pack.

I believe you just cannot buy it if it's restricted. If someone else gets it for you , you can unpack just fine. (Thus so many people trading for ROW versions instead of theirs)

Section 8 is not avalaible in my region and I can play it and MP too so there should not be any problem

GTA shouldn't be a problem. There are several different kinds of games that aren't available in the German steam-store. Some are not allowed to be sold to minors (like uncut editions of several shooters) and others are just not released on Steam in Germany (e.g. id games). All those are unproblematic when it comes to gifting (at least when the gifter bought it abroad). The only games, that you should check twice are these, where the publisher forbids any gaming in Germany. As far as I know this only applies to the latest Alien vs Predator and the Dead Rising series.

BTW: GTA4 was very disappointing. Be sure to check the other parts, too.

I've been in the same situation as you. A few months ago I got the complete pack too, and it works just fine. Usually you can unpack and play any game that isn't in your region, you just can't buy it, that's all. However, there might be certain and rare situations where you can't play a game that isn't available in your country - Dead Rising comes to mind. I don't remember if it was Dead Rising 2 or Dead Rising Off the Record, but you can't play one of those if you're currently in Germany. It's Games for Windows LIVE that prevents you from playing, not Steam, btw. Gotta love Capcom, right?

Looks like some people had better luck than me, but I gifted HAWX 2 to my gf in Germany without knowing it's restricted, and she couldn't play it (she redeemed it successfully, but it wouldn't even appear in her library, so she couldn't so much as install it). I had to write in to Steam support to get my money back. :/

There shouldn't be any problems. I'm also from germany and got gifted many games that aren't available here (or are censored) and never had problems :)

Thx guys, unpacked it. I'm now on my unlucky quest of downloading 16 GBs :P ... No problems so far.
