Would it be possible to add a confirmation popup for entering DLCs and Bundles. Basically for everything that is not reported by the steam API, i.e. 0 users own it.

So when you click enter a popup comes up reminding you to check manually and to confirm your entry.

A Popup like:
"This game/ DLC is not properly synced with your account. Please make sure you do not already own it.:
Enter / Do not Enter"

Probably introducing 1 day suspension for being rerolled. (Only for GAs with popup and reroll with "owns the game") Maybe on the third strike and not on the first, I don't know.

Would probably cut down on mindless users / bots entering DLCs as well, because they do not bother with the extra click.

Do you would be annoyed by an additional click?

Yes, leave me alone.
Yes, but it is worth it.
Not entering DLCs anyways.
No, I like clicking.

DLCs and other bundles are not synced and you can enter the GA even if you own the game/DLC.

What I want is a popup when entering some of these GAs reminding you to check manually.

yes it would be possible, but i don't think it would be worth the trouble since "bots" (or even those that don't pay attention) would simply add the confirm dialog option (or just click the confirm) and still join anyways.

Yes I am aware, that the could add it.
But I think they would not want to. I guess they would rather only enter +1 games instead of DLCs, but cant distinguish atm.

And even if. When adding a suspension penalty (ok, which is a different thing), that might get dangerous for them ^^

bots don't think, they do as they're told :P

using a bot in general is dangerous for them, but it's still not stopping them.

;-> Jeha but if a creator only wants the bot to enter games, he would now have a way to recognize DLCs. atm there is no reliable way of doing so.

And yes, they can feel save, because there is next to nothing distinguishing a bot from a mindless user. But this (ignoring the popup) could be used to punish both ^^

they won't add a rule about "mindless entering" though. genuine mistakes happen as well and there additionally is no way to distinguish a mindless/bot entrance vs a genuine mistake. therefore there will be no actual change in the minds of cheaters and they will add the dialog confirm into the bot making this whole suggestion rather inert.

Jeha, but if you have a popup with "check manually" and people do not check either because the don't want to or are bots you could punish that. Maybe.

But even if this popup prevents only every 10th reroll, it's worth it.

no idea i suppose it's possible some bot users would and some wouldn't. i just personally don't see it worth the trouble for the admin to implement tbh.

as far as just making it easier on yourself though.. between using SG Game Tags & Better Steam Profile Autosync it makes it pretty easy to distinguish if you already own something. the owned dlc/products will all have a "hidden" tag on them due to the better sync hiding all owned content from the main giveaway pages. so the better sync script hides them better from you initially but even for those that you still see from a group page click or invite only click you can see the hidden tag among the other identifying tags from sg game tags script. xD

Nah, its not for myself, it's manly to raise awarnes...
I issued around 20 reroll requests today. And there are probably still some to come. That kinda sucks.

kinda same, just letting whoever reads it know there is a way to make things easier on yourself then constantly visiting the steam store page or steam client to see what's owned. ^^

that would suck, sorry. =(
thankfully i rarely do dlc/bundle/pack GAs that don't register thru api properly, so never ran into nearly that many tickets to handle at a time.

Jeha well. I only enter stuff I know I want anyways and even if something looks interesting I check it before ^^.

But I really thought about not doing a GA for theses 50 DLCs ... but well. No risk no fun.

I only enter in wishlist giveaways and I can't have excess DLC on that, so it doesn't matter to me.
