Got a bit of a story for you lot if you're interested. If not, don't read on.
So my lot and I have been playing a butt load of DayZ Origins. One of the modded maps for the mod DayZ. It's loads of fun. The main point of this special map is the island Salvation City that has AI guards that are difficult to kill but ultimately yields a great reward.
Also there is the ability to build houses. Which is awesome.
Onto my story though;
So my group and I start off the day by killing two invaders trying to steal our one and only heli. Buy us I mean my good buddy Rockwell and Roastbeef.
I log on shortly after and we set off to go find the notorious Dr. Ivan zombie. He's a rare spawn that always drops one blueprint or another. (Needed for building your houses.)
We land at Ekaterinburg because we've been told he spawns there often.
What follows is nine hours of multiple deaths, a lot of running around, and Dr. Ivan spawning a few times. We manage to actually gain ourselves a decent amount of resources, but because of an unfortunate incident with the AI heli patrol, our heli is now without a main rotor.
So we spend a good while searching nearby industrial spawns for a main rotor assembly.
As we are doing so, a new lad to our server logs on, I start talking to him being the friendly hero I am and eventually him and I agree to let him join our group.
Just as we finish that conversation we find a main rotor assembly. Hell we just met this kid and he's already good luck for us.
So we fix up our heli and fly out to find him down in the city Seven. We get to him and land on the rooftop he was waiting on and just as we're taking off.
The AI heli patrol shows up and takes us down within a matter of three seconds. Nine hours of work, countless materials and all our gear..
Lucky we got most of our gear back. But still, DayZ man. It's a fickle mistress.
