Hello and welcome to the madness!
The challenge is simple: Play and beat any 6 games, starting today, that have been featured in any given Humble Monthly/Choice bundle in one month.

The prize: 5x Ghostrunner
Note: This means I'm giving away five copies of the game and will have 5 winners.

Game length does not matter and I'm not looking for 100% achievement runs. So long as you play and beat 6 games, I'm happy. You can go easy mode and play a bunch of 1h games or go crazy and play 6 +30h games. So long as they were in a monthly at a given point, it is all good.

Just post a comment with either screenshots/ achievements showing that you fulfilled the criteria and I'll add on Steam and give you the link. Feel free to share your thoughts on the games you've played, but it is not required.

FAQ:

Why you doing this?

I hate money. That and I realized I've been subbed to the monthly for over five years (yes it has been that long, I checked) and it occurred to me that I've barely touched the games I've gotten from it, let alone played them. Figured the same would be true for a few others, so I figured this is a good way to change that. A sensible person would probably unsub in this situation, but please refer to the beginning as to why that will not happen.

Why six games?

The first few monthlies had 6/7 games in them so I went with that.

How long are you going to do this?

Until my credit card statements gives me nightmares.

This event "ends" on January 1st when the next HB Choice releases, though the giveaway itself will end the next day. If you manage to finish game number six in between that time, feel free to post, but know that I cannot guarantee that I'll be able to give you the link in time.

Good luck, have fun and stay safe.
Thanks for reading, and don't forget to write to Santa.

I am sooo late this month and I have lots going on (plus awesome non-monthly and awesome ;) games to play) but I'm going to give it a shot because what would a month be without the monthly in a month??
Now what to play... let's seee.....

I kinda liked Lethal League Blaze but I don't think it's one of those game I'm going to keep going back to. It gets repetitive fast and the AI is not very well balanced, resulting in an uneven challenge. The vs mode was fun with my gf but even that wears thin after a couple hours really.

I honestly doubt that HLTB's stats for Basingstoke are based in reality. Either they only have stats for people who abandoned the game after a couple hours of playing, or for people who idled for cards. Anyway, it's just not my experience of the game and I wasn't going for 100%.
It's a cool little stealth game. Tbh, it freaked me out way more than I was expecting it too and the controls can be frustrating but I'll definitely go back to it and try to complete the achievements because it was fun to play.

Oh and speaking of HLTB and expectations... Penarium. Should be called Gruesome Death Simulator! Daaaaamn I died soo much! I rage quit like 20 times! I only finished it by chance really. Good thing there are achievements based on how much you die and how bad it gets!

After Penarium, Yoku's Island Express felt like a breeze, for a change. And a nice refreshing gameplay. Took a little while for me to get used to the mechanics but it was very fun even when i sucked.

Final game of the month, 11-11 Memories Retold. I put this one off for months because of two things: the visuals just felt weird in trailers and gameplay videos (it ended up not bothering me too much even though I still think it an odd choice) and Elijah Wood (I don't even have a hard dislike of him but his acting in Broken Age bugged me so I wasn't eager to find out how it would fare in a dramatic game).
As it turns out, I loved the game even being bothered by both of these. I was going to do the usual save/reload for endings for achievements but then I realized I want to play it again, in a bit, making different choices, collecting everything, taking more time. It really is a beautiful, and heavy, game.

  1. [End Screen] Penarium
Does the tough-as-nails arcade-platforming trope well. Had some frustrating controller-smashing deaths at times, but that was to be expected.
  2. [End Screen] Smile For Me
I would die for any of these characters.
  3. [End Screen] The Haunted Island, a Frog Detective Game
  4. [End Screen] Frog Detective 2: The Case of the Invisible Wizard
Definitely feels like a game made for younger audiences. But I still really enjoyed it! And the tongue-in-cheek humor is sure to get a roll out of anyone.
  5. [End Screen] Tiny Echo
Found myself just stopping and listening to the sounds at times. The audio design here is top-notch.
  6. [End Screen] Tsioque
Amazing hand-drawn art & animation throughout. A very well-made point-and-click adventure, and the puzzle logic isn't too nonsensical like the genre sometimes is.

Overall had a great time playing through this batch of games!
