All in the title, it's becoming more tough for me to plan other giveaways. How about you ?

I stopped buying stuff from the Steam store...so it limits my choices somewhat.

Not really, in the end I buy more keys on Gamesplanet, Humble- IndieGala- and Bundle Stars stores, GMG, DIG and others to use as gifts instead of buying gifts on Steam.

Nope. I only use the steam gifting system with real life friends, and they're all in the same zone as me with regards to steam so there's no issues for me.

yes, but on the positive side i don't need to give away region-locked trash any more. i'll get used to give away keys instead of gifts.

Isnt the problem kind of solved now when they added more region restrictions to steamgifts?

No, because you can hardly predict into which countries it will work unless you lock it down to just the one you are in.

Also the no-storing issue, sale ending too soon etc is there too.

Yes. I made a giveaway for 20 copies of a non-bundled game a few weeks ago, and having to add 20 random people to my friend list just to send them the game was lame. Not being able to store them in my inventory just sucks.

Yeah, tfw they don't accept your friend request and have private profile.

Yes, because the friends I've historically given gifts to-- for holidays, during the major sales, et al-- are in different countries than I am, so the convenience just isn't there. Now I have to keep in mind what they like/want when there are sales at Humble&others, instead of just looking at the side bar to see if it's on their wishlist or not ;____;

I joined SG well after the change, so I'm used to only giving keys away here. I understand that it's a total pain now because of that avenue being cut off, though.

Major pain for me as it's my only method of gifting, try to get sales but people refuse to be contacted to get their win in time. If I have to stop giving I will stop joining thus leaving this place.

Yes it sad as we no longer are allow to store games in our inventory like we used to and then there that other problem with region restrictions.
Most of this is cases are by the country in witch you live in and in some case it even the game publishers are forcing change and have to do with currency exchange rate.
And my guest is they didn't want to get on the bad side with the European Commission and it unfair competition, I think this why Steam has made some changes to keep them some what happy about fair use.

I guess for me it wasn't that much of a pain since for me I've been on SG for like a little over a year and for me most of my giveaways for key giveaways and not gifts.

But I guess sometimes before this was implemented I was almost thinking of if I had some bonus cash in my steam wallet to buy some cheap/good games on sale to then give them away to the community, but it would be more of a pain now to do that. So I might just stick with like those other sites that have sales, but gives a steam key you can easily give away.

So far 0.3% of my giveaways were Steam gifts. I do not think Steam is a good store ever since late 2014, and I tend to buy stuff even for myself elsewhere. There are relatively few decent games now that are strictly sold on Steam only and nowhere else.

No. Most of my GAs ( if not all) are from Humble Bundle or Bundle Stars. I'm in south america so all my steam gifts were region locked, and because I try to avoid making region locked GAs, I'm used to get my keys outside of steam.

Not really, but there have been certain times when I've thought about making unbundled GAs only to remember that wait, no, can't do it through Steam. :P ok, I know, I could set the GA to end before the sale ends and only then buy the game, but too much hassle I'm currently in a very bad financial situation, so would like to use the Steam Wallet. Also, there have been a couple of games on sale which I would have gotten as gifts just to see if I really want to activate them myself or give as a present on someone's birthday etc.

tl;dr: no, but bought less games because of it.

Mixed feelings pretty much, wish I could ''like'' or acknowledge your comments somehow. This all blows.

Yes, definitely. Without the ability to place gifts in my inventory I can't plan for future trains, which might be good for my wallet but I would've still liked to make the usual trains (cake day, etc). This has also lead me to pay less and less attention to the Steam store in general since even when I would buy something that I was interested in keeping, I would still place it in my inventory first until I was absolutely sure I wanted the game - if I changed my mind then I could just give it away.
