No one I've known has ever heard of it:o It might have been popular in other countries but in the UK it's rare as heck. Never seen it in a store; bar one at CEX.

If you're a SEGA fan, why do you mention games from everyone except SEGA ?
At least throw in an Outrun, Golden Axe, Afterburner or something :P
Edit: Well, I'd hope some of those appeared on the DS, not sure though.

Any games which Shu Takumi worked on. Phoenix Wright series, Ghost Trick.
Also Radiant Historia is a pretty cool underdog. I'm not sure how easy it would be to find a copy nowadays, though. There was a time that game ran out of copies pretty fast.

I love the DS version of Carcassonne. It probably gets more play than anything else on my DS.
Several other DS board game adaptations are also fun: The DS version of Settlers of Catan and Scotland Yard, say. Scotland Yard especially -- the AI is great, making it feel like you're really outwitting them when you manage to win.

Come on guys, some of these suggestions are already popular.
Aliens: Infestation - Metroidvania
The Dark Spire - First person Dungeon Crawler
Etrian Odyssey - First Person Dungeon Crawler. Series is gaining popularity
Monster Tale - Made by the people who made Henry Hansworth
Hotel Dusk: Room 215
Also try checking out the Shin Megemi Tensei DS games if you haven't heard of them. Very popular though, but if you like Pokemon you should like it since Shin Megami Tensei is a another monster/demon battling game and it even existed before Pokemon.
Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey - First Person Dungeon Crawler.
Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Surivor 1 & 2 - Strategy Turn-Based game with typical turn-based RPG battles .1 has a 3DS remake and 2 is getting one. So if you're about to get a 3DS don't play the DS versions
Also another popular game that I suggest is Radiant Historia

Pretty sure Hotel Dusk was at least somewhat popular.

I vaguely remember Gameflying that game, but remember nothing about it, lol.
Just looked it up, I liked the concept but it felt really underused.

Not sure which are popular or not, but some of my favorites NDS games are:

Nobody has ever played Chrono Trigger, Dragon Quest, or Layton.

Hehe.
That being said, I do agree with Zomby2d that Layton and Chrono Trigger are some of the absolute best DS games

But...but...
Honestly, I wasn't around to play the original SNES version, so I don't like it cause of nostalgia. It's just great, IMHO. Love the story, graphics, combat system...
What makes you not like it? Compared to most old RPGs, I certainly wouldn't call it boring myself

The story is pretty damn boring or at least the way it's presented. Finding out about Lavos and going into Magus' castle was probably in my opinion on of the best SNES era RPG moments, but after that the story went dull (again) and iunno it seemed that it doesn't even try to make the story interesting at times.
And the character development is basically non-existent.
Like the story just nose dived back into being dull after it's great moments, there wasn't any slope whatsoever.

I can see where you're coming from, and yeah, character-development certainly isn't a focus.
Still, I like the story as a whole, and absolutely love combat.

Metroid Prime Pinball. It puts a Metroid twist on pinball, and I absolutely LOVE it. (And there is an objective to "beat the game", per se)
And I'm not sure if this is neccesarily non-popular, but Okamiden is a wonderful game that isn't nearly as known as it's predecessor, Okami

So i just got back to playing a nintendo DS. I never really had the chance to play that much before since it was only borrowed but i thoroughly enjoyed the castlevania games and the the world ends with you. I wanna see what else you guys loved and enjoy.
I'm not looking for answers like pokemon, or mario games since they get enough attention, i'm looking for rare gems like magical starsign and henry hatsworth.
so tell me, what were really fun DS games for you? :)
