I don't see anywhere to submit bugs, so I'm making this thread. There's a bug when searching for games with apostrophes in the name. Even if the game is being given away, if there is an apostrophe in the search term, it doesn't show that any games were found.

Example:

http://www.steamgifts.com/open/search/Don%27t%20Starve

vs

http://www.steamgifts.com/open/search/Starve

Don't Starve has one open giveaway, but you don't see that giveaway by searching Don't Starve, you have to search for part of the name to find it, ex. Starve.

Sounds like the search bar needs to be sanitized and have special characters escaped.

Edit: Wait a minute, I just searched on Don't Starve and it came back with the giveaway. Not sure why your's isn't working.

It does escape the special characters. That appears to be the issue. At first glance, I'd assume apostrophes aren't escaped in whatever database they are being looked up in.

It looks like your search is wrong? the %27 part

Here's mine:

Err, which doesn't seem to work when I put a link in here, but does if I type it into the search box.

http://www.steamgifts.com/open/search/Don't

Weird, it appears links with apostrophes don't work right.

The searchbox returns results, the URLs don't. Also, "1 open giveaway was found. Click here to search." doesn't work either. So, that's both escaped and unescaped apostrophes that cause failure.

However! The fact that the searchbox is now working (previously it wasn't) is already a step in the right direction.

You can report bugs directly to Support. Click on Support at the top of any page, then Submit a Question, and set the category to Other or Suggestions (there should be a Bugs category, which itself would make a nice Suggestion).
