I could say the same about Dota 2, actually. :P
It's just a matter of different taste, I guess. If you don't like JC2, you'll hate it. Personally, i think it's the feel of complete freedom I get when playing it. It's a third person shooter, but nothing ties you to the ground in any ways. You can just go airborne in a matter of seconds, you can just go around causing complete chaos, or just get a plane and enjoy the beauty of Panau.
I don't know. I just feel great when playing this game.

If it stays the same as Just Cause 2, with updated engine, built-in multiplayer/coop I would be happy.
But unfortunately its not up to developers but to publisher to command will it be catastrophe or not.

So what are the main differences to JC2? Looks very similar gameplay-wise but with more eye candy.

We don't have anything concrete yet to actually know if it will be different, and if it will drastically be any different; but based to what we have right now, I'd say they most likely changed quite a few things related to the gameplay as well as the graphics, while still keeping Just Cause 3 very similar to Just Cause 2.
A developer once mentioned that the goal was mostly to follow Just Cause 2's pattern, while drastically improving most of the game.
I expect a better weapon/combat system, driving, and a "re-booted", more interactive world. Probably a bit more diversified, lots of destructive items, more weapons, more vehicles, and of course, the new wingsuit.
And I'm pretty sure they will be focusing on a better storyline as well, by the look of it.
