Me, personally I can't live without owning all DLC's in a game, but I'm even more obsessed with playing all the games in the series. With exception for Mafia, of course, as it is too expensive because it isn't on Steam anymore. But I'm wondering, what "person" are you in this situation?

And of course, it does depend on what the DLC offer. Didn't add that to the poll, and now it's too late ;-;

Do you care about DLC's?

I'm obsessed with DLC's and I'm always buying the Complete Edition of games, and if the games are in a bundle and the game isn't Compelete Edition, I won't buy the games.
Meh, it doesn't matter..

Depends on the DLC. Cosmetic is probably a no and a DLC that adds a mode(s)/map(s)/etc. depends on the content.

Your poll basically let us choose between Always buy all DLCs and never buy any. It's stupid as most people won't fit any category. I for myself will want to get any DLC that I see worthwhile - it means actual content - story, some extra mode, but I will not buy skins, outfits, extra weapons, in-game cheats (like buying DLC that adds you money) etc. I will also validate whether DLC is worth it. If it offers 1h content for 30% price of the base game that offers 30h I will not buy it.

DLC that adds something significant, yes

  • more story
  • extra maps/levels
  • signigicant improvement to gameplay
  • extra factions

Cosmetic DLC not at all

  • skins

DLC that should have been part of the regular game, I'd rather wait for GOTY. It really pisses me off to have to buy the DLC to get the main story, or if the game is nerfed without it.

There are some close calls. Extra units in Total War are just a cash grab, as are the factions in Shogun II. But significant differences for the races in Total Warhammer will probably be justifiable. I feel that e.g. Civilization V is nerfed without the expansions, but that similar expansions in Crusader Kings II are totally acceptable because the base game is solid without them.

I try to buy goty editions, but when the games come from a bundle without dlc... dlc end up costing much more than the game itself, so if I can have them for a low price, good, otherwise I just leave them be.
Unless it's a game I really like, then I could make an exception, but again, I try to buy goty editions of games I'm sure I (will) like.

Depends on the DLC, the game it's for and the price. Like DOA5 on Steam (and other mediums) has so much DLC it's insane, and they're only costumes. While I like them and wouldn't mind some the prices are ridiculous.

I don't mind waiting for a game of the year edition.

I consider DLCs on a full priced game a rip-off unless the game is already great/big/lengthy in some kind ... which is rarely the case (Skyrim/Witcher 3 probably ...). Therefore i disregard most ... unless their dirt cheap or already included.

Negative highlight - Evolve, more like Evolution of DLC robbery ... barebone-game with barely any content + DLCs that affect the game greatly, some DLCs got cheaper later, one was even for free but NOT Maps and Monsters ... i didn't even care later on as the game got boring fast.

Why are the choices either "I am obsessed" or "Doesn't Matter'? There is a middle ground.
