level drop

I know there were a lot of level drop discussions (most of them because of this game war machine tactics)
I just dropped down from level 2 (~2.55) to level 1 (1.94).
I read somewhere, that if the game price drops down your points drop down too or something like that.
It would be a little bit unfair if it only counts the current price and not for the price you bought it :/

I don't consider it unfair, my lvl dropped from 4 to lvl 2 few months ago. If you want to keep your lvl high you have to keep sharing games, this is how this site works, it's not unfair at all. Otherwise we would have a lot of high lvls, especially leechers. Russian prices and bundled games because of them are unfair, not lvl drops.

This site is about sharing games between users, there are plenty of people/groups sharing games for low lvls, if you want to keep your lvl higher and have better chances you will find your money from time to time.

yeah, some of them where bundle games.
But I was level 2 so it shouldn't make a difference.

most common reasons for level drops:

price drops on steam store :3
game removed from store ($0)
game retro-bundled (worth 15%)

no. your giveaway will only be affected if that game was discounted before you posted it.

You don't have anything that fits that criteria. All of your game GAs were on the bundle list for a long time.

Ah, right that is the only one. But is hasn't changed status, and neither have any of the others, so I am not seeing a reason for a level drop. They are all dated a long time ago on the bundle list.

Cg made a post awhile back about the whole current price vs. price the game was going for at the time but I can't be assed to find it. Tl;dr, price errors and fluctuations in prices (think Daedelic games) would fuck this system from the start.

Why can't the site remember how much the price was when you made the giveaway and lock that in to your account? If the ga was made during a pricing error can't they check the last price it was at before the error and set it to that?
