due to these 2 days of "Try for Free"?

Any solutions from admins? Can it be solutionated for future similar ocasions (even with diferent games)

I know the "brute force" solution of not sync your profile during these days, but i had to sync to hide games from the humble bundle i just purchased.

Yeah it seems so, some people in the steam forums are claiming their performance improved in w10

Me too xD. have you tried messing with the settings in the in-game options? Different set ups seems to work better also on identical rigs. There is also that popular launch setting code line.

is there?

i never really searched anything on the subject. but now that you mention it, imma give it a try.

Does it provide any great improvement or a minor?

Worked for me. Search in the game forums, it's code that force the game to use all your cpu cores, etc etc. You have to also mess a little with the options as I mentioned, eventually you can find the settings that provides stable fps.

I want to do the opposite unhide it, as steamgifts count it as purchase during those free days trials

Well, he was talking about hiding your purchased games instead of sync your steam account before a weekend...
Try always sync once each week, Tuesdays or Wednesdays.
There is no other solution

Sorry i didn't understand him. But it's possible to manually hide purchased games after the sync?

Too late for that. You should have done that INSTEAD of syncing. It has been said a lot of times already.. No sync your profile on weekends (yep it seems weekend includes thursdays, at least for the Steam free weekends)

yeah i know, that is why this discussion was created, to do it after syncing. It's not possible now, but maybe admins can add this feature or solution, i don't know, my knowledge of web programming is below zero.

It is related to Steam API. Nothing that cg can do. The game is added to your account, and there is no way to know if you bought it or is a free weekend. Anyway, usually people don't create giveaways for games with free weekend because they are aware a lot of users can't enter. And anyway, usually people don't create Ark giveaways at all :P

These trials should really be opt-in on Steam's part.

It seems so, but something is bugged I suppose. I haven't got it in my library and when I click "Play Game" button on the store page nothing happens.

Even though I'd done so, the game wasn't there. Only Mount & Blade was in my library. But it's been added today at least for me.

You can contact Steam support and ask them to stop including free weekend games in API calls.

Because of how Valve handles the data for Free Weekend games, there is no difference between those and games you own when this site gets the data. There is no fix for it that can be done on this end.

At this point, you will just need to manually resync after the Free Weekend ends and enter what you still can then, or buy the game yourself.

The best way to avoid this in future is to do a manual sync on Wednesday, so all auto syncs also happen that day, avoiding a sync during a Free Weekend.

So it's technically impossible doing what jatan11t said about API calls

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

No, but that also has the possibility of allowing some / all owners (depending on how it would work) of that game to enter for it. Not so sure CG would accept that result as opposed to simply preventing them from entering some.

Either way, for this weekend, you can't enter those giveaways. Even if CG was willing to do that, I doubt the feature would be implemented in a weekend just so you could resync to enter a few giveaways.

Yes, i know if it can be implemented will not be right now. Thats why told before for a solution for future free game weekends.
Thanks for the answer and the clearings

Steam won't give two shits about you complaining about this. This is how they have done it for years, and they have no incentive to change it just for SG.
