So yeah, this is my first train
Ticket
Good Luck :)

And to serve some other purpose, besides taking me to lvl 5 let's have some music-recommedantion thread

I want some new sounds in my life!
There's a lot of music/bands/artist that never break to international audience so let's change that.
If you know music from your country worth listening but you feel like it never get enough attention worldwide - post it right here with short description.

And to begin, here's something from Poland. I was thinking a lot about this and finally managed to pick one thing so...

Jelonek - amazing combination of calssical music and heavy metal. Mix of guitars and violin, sounds extremely catchy, surprising and fun. If you're not some radical thinking that classical music should always be performed classicly give it a chance. You won't regret that ;) Also i think these guys definitely deserve some praise. Plus they sound great live and gave me one of the best concerts in my life ;)

Here's a little sample for you:
ViolMachine
Romantic Revenge
William Tell Overture(Live Version)
Surprise ;)

So show me what you got and I hope you enjoy my stuff during train ride :D
Good Luck!

Uiuiui, starker Tobak...
That's not really my style of music, but the message is an important one. Guess it's better to get angry than sad. It might actually get you moving instead of feeling helpless...

German as I am, I would like to introduce to you a band from Berlin called "il Civetto". They are making some kind of gipsy world music with lots of power inside and awesome to dance to. Here's one of my favourite songs from them: "Liberté Ana"
And a somewhat funnier song and vieo: "Baba Che"
Another great one: "Part de la vie"
Honestly, every song is great ;P

Enjoy!

I love this one. If you want music of this kind i can give you recommendation.
If you played Witcher 3 and liked soundtrack you probably know Percival.
But there is another band playing this folk style music called Żywiołak and it's great.

Singapore doesn't have too much international artists, but I guess we do have JJ Lin.

He's a Chinese singer that makes pretty popular chinese songs.
Cao Cao A song about a famous Chinese General named Cao Cao
Dou Jiang You Tiao A song about love, desert beancurd with fried "You Tiao"

Those below are all italian bands :)

Nanowar of Steel, comedy heavy metal. This songs is about vegans, just sayin'.
Obv, I Pinguini Tattici Nucleari are a band which is not very well known even in Italy. But I love them: super catchy and good lyrics
Be the Wolf, 🤘
The Sidh, who says you can't headbang to a bagpipe?
La maschera, they're from Naples and they sing in our own beautiful language.

There you go! Those are the translated lyrics! I also added some explanation when needed so you can better understand references and puns. Hope you enjoy, this guys are really good at writing songs :)

To me you were
The long Tetris block
The one you wait for for a lifetime
But when it finally comes, it solves everything
To me you were
The third note in the chord
The most important one, deciding the fate
Of my empty days
To me you were
The most fierce beast
The one one can tame only by whispering
The curse of a whorshipper
When they bump into a nightstand
The prayer of an agnostic
Facing a grey morning
Winter-like
Hellish --> (in italian this is a pun - or a rethorical figure called paronomasia -, as winter-like is invernale and hellish is invernale)
REF:
And I'm sorry if I tell you these things
But I must tell someone
And you're the only someone I know
And you blew into my
Harmonica-shaped heart
You sowed wind and reaped wind energy --> (this mocks an italian says that goes like this "you sowed wind and reaped storm")
Your rathers and your enoughs
Won't stop the volcano erupting on my exposed face
It all started with an indifferent marry me
And ended with a delighted to make your acquaintance --> ( acquaintance : conoscenza, recklessness : incoscienza - he plays with sounds again)
Or maybe recklessness -

To me you were
The awareness
That, as time goes by, even Magikarp
Can evolve into Gyarados
To me you were
Avoiding a thousand nightmares
But getting killed by the first dream
Emerging on my road
To me you were
The absence to Bresson
The bullfight to Hemingway
And the revoultion to Danton
The train whistling to Belluca ---> (this may need an explanation: Il treno ha fischiato, or the train has whistled is a short novel by Luigi Pirandello in which the whistle of the train shocked the protagonist, he then will rebel against society)
you shocked me
Like Carrà dancing tuca tuca on Rai Gold --> famous italian old showgirl
REF. AGAIN

To me you were what the Dunning-Kruger effect is to Kanye West
To me you were what Friends was to the 90s
I hid in your eyes for hours
And felt like a better person
I hid in your eyes for hours
And felt like a better person
Refrain --> he says literally that

REF. AGAIN

Wolfsheim was a synthpop duo having german and english songs and they sadly ended their project in court which forbade either of them to continue on with the other...

I really have no idea what music from the US gets international exposure and what doesn't, but Jelonek's genre blending reminded me of this little 'fusion' gem that I discovered this past year. A European house track performed with classical instruments, Hindi vocals, and even some tabla thrown in to boot? Yes, please. :)
