I've only played Cyberpunk 2077, Path of Exile and NieR Replicant from these but i think i made good choices overall.
and yes i loved cyberpunk i have over 200 hours in it so for me it is goty

Here's my noms
I've not even played my GOTY, nor played my Better With Friends with friends. And my outstanding story may not be entirely serious.

I know it's cheating, but I really would have liked to select the following:

Not sure if Cyberpunk should be GOTY, but at least it gave us good memes material 😅

I only played 4 games released in 2021, which seriously limits my serious picks. So ended up with this, namely:

SERIOUS PICKS (games from 2021 I played and might fit the nominations):

• Game of the Year: Wildermyth (should also be "Outstanding Story-Rich")
• Labor of Love: Hellblade (Senua's Sacrifice) (recent graphic patch out of the blue)
• Most Innovative Gameplay: Loop Hero (the mechanics were indeed quite unusual)
• Sit Back and Relax: Townscaper (played only for a few minutes, but felt veeeery relaxing)

SEMI-SERIOUS PICKS (wouldn't NOMINATE it for something, but I played it, and I had fun with it)

• Better with Friends: Morkredd

FILLER PICKS (did not even play them; might change them if you folks convince me otherwise... well, and if I care):

• VR Game of the Year: Tempestfall (based on what you folks said in this Thread)
• Outstanding Visual Style : Psychonauts 2 (well, the first one had outstanding visual style, so...)
• Best Game You Suck at: Deathloop (based on... based on.... ack, random pick, really)
• Best Soundtrack: Guardians of the Galaxy (the movie's soundtrack was very good, so....)
• Outstanding Story-Rich Game: Tales of Arise (title says "Tales", must be a good story... right?)

I've only actually played a few of the games, so as typical I had to pick random games I at least have some basic knowledge about.

Still and still-- State of Decay 2: Juggernaut Edition. First released around 2018 with "Unlimited Edition" but now the Definitive/Juggernaut edition around 2020, all new player get update for free and no longer selling DLCs, all DLCs are included already.

Still updating and still adding contents till today! WOW! It is a labor of love and of course my favorite game ever. I don't like Horror game at all! But, this game changed my mind with this story-driven and base-building mechanic. So thrilling & so amazing!

Don't have vr, so chose some random garbage.

I nominated It takes two for game of the year. Really fun to play with a significant other. And for labour of love I nominated Human: Fall flat. Seriously they keep on releasing new levels, and while I wish they would let me just keep my 100% for it, I do appreciate that these are free updates. The rest of my picks were just kinda random ones I played that released this year. Apart from the VR category, which I haven't played any in.

I haven't seen/played much of recent games, so I cant pick the soundtrack thing. For me its obviously Cyberpunk, but I already picked it as GOTY, because there is no way it doesn't deserve the title.

not like it matters, not quality, quantity decides, but i still did some valid voting. Yes, i played more than half of these games, usually voted from my played games. VR is the black horse, i autoignore VR games as i dont have the gadget.

But i know already my GOTY for next year, no matter if it will fail, ill still vote for Elex 2:-D

Hard choice between Black Book - Village - Sir Brante for personal GOTY, but still the originality and indescribable spirit of the Black Book outweighs everything. Although I am sure that Psychonauts 2 would definitely have won, But I haven’t played it yet.

Also, when choosing the nominees, I noticed that for me this year there is very serious competition in the best narrative nomination, but very weak in co-op and music nominations...
