I noticed TwistedBrush Liquid Studio is currently being given away for free. It's a nice little program that even though I hardly ever used it's pretty good at what it claims to do so maybe it's of some use to you. The nice thing is the license seems to be available for commercial use too so it's a plus. For more details read the description below.

Liquid Studio is focused on the creation of individual objects that you might use in other art software while having a simpler, streamlined interface. The Liquid paints allow you to model and shape your objects and then paint them with the included brushes with the results being crisp lines you might see in illustration software but without the need to mask anything. You can even continue to shape your objects after they are painted.

Liquid Art Creation

The process of creation using Liquid Studio can roughly follow these steps with the first step painting a basic shape. There isn’t a need to be accurate it will be shaped and fine tuned in later steps. Concentrate on creation of a silhouette of what you are trying to create. Using the liquid shaping brushes push and pull your shape to get it closer to what you want. Similar to working with clay but in 2D. The Liquid smoothing brushes can be used to further refine the shape as well as smooth the edges. Using the collection of paint brushes included with Liquid Studio you are now ready to paint your shape. There is no need to mask or select, only the objects on the current layer will be painted and you will have a crisp edge to your object.

No.
Not for me.
That's exactly what I was looking for.
I might give it a try at some point.
Not a game, not interested.

Looks interesting. Too bad it doesn't have a mac download, definitely would have checked it out. Generally, I just use the Adobe CC for everything, but I like playing with other apps from time to time.

Honestly, at this point Adobe has no alternative sadly, when it comes to design. It looks like this app is basically a dumbed down PS with more brushes, but getting new brushes for PS is fairly easy as well, so it seems it has no real advantage.

Free for commercial purposes. I'd say it's an advantage.

Really depends on what you want to do. I highly doubt this software is generally used to create something for commercial purposes...
Using it just for fun, sure, why not, but if you have PS I don't see any advantage from the first glance. Maybe I am missing something.

Adobe does have an alternative. It's called Affinity. https://affinity.serif.com
Affinity Photo is a Photoshop alternative,
Affinity Designer is an Illustrator alternative,
Affinity Publisher is an Indesign alternative.

Single pay license per program, no subscription nonsense. They're pretty good replacements if you don't need the cross-program links of the full Adobe suite. (AE, PR, etc)

I agree, but those are fun to mess about with when they're free, just to see what can be achieved. I'd never dream of using them commercially anyway (unless as a one off for something that suited the syle) because programs like that tend to have a singular purpose... creating a particular style of artwork. I tend to use Illustrator and InDesign a lot more than Photoshop either way, to be honest. ^^

"(NOTE: You MUST download the installer from us. If you download from the developer, it will NOT accept the license key.)"

Nope, it should be fine. But I dunno if anything else got installed too, like some toolbars or ad-related apps. You should always be careful and attentive when installing apps.

I went to their website directly and was prompted to give my email in return for a free key as well.
For those who are interested in the same offer though wants to bypass installing another app first, this could be an option.

Oh, my bad. I thought the ShareWareOnSale Download Hub was a program that needed to be installed prior. Thanks for sharing regardless <3

Might give a try to this program, I don't really know much about this style of digital painting (or painting in general, the only things I have some limited experience with are pixel art and vectors) but their sales pitch sounds promising.

I was interested in one of the ebooks but then they wanted company name, job title, phone number, etc. I really hope I missed something because that's just bad.

That sounds fishy. Never give that kind of info unless you're completely sure to whom you're entrusting that info.

I never used them for ebooks, just for their software giveaways. The nice thing is from time to time I happen to need one of the various software they gave away and I happily find out I already have a working license for it because licenses aren't always invalidated at the end of the promotion.
