I am really into indie games this days, right now playing Shadow Warrior and FTL. My all time favourite is still Hotline Miami.
Whats your favourite indie game ? I am looking to add more indie games to my collection.

Planetship.

It is a weird, colorful, trippy game with the humor of old B science-fiction movies. It has a cool crafting/upgrade system that makes you explore the procedural generated universe for maybe too long, but along the way you get to experience some funny events and listen to some cool music.

The game is in early access and missing a lot of content, but the procedural generation and the jokes and events that are currently in the game should keep you entertained for a while.

I've recently completed Hotline Miami - the story at least - and it really did blow me away, great game!

Impossible for me to pick a single one, and where do you draw the line between indie and non-indie? Anyway, here are a few that I found to be great that might be considered indie:
Avernum: Escape from the Pit
Genefroge
Aquaria
Cave Story
Dominions 4
Tales of Maj'Eyal
Dust: An Elysian Tail
Jamestown
Mark of the ninja
Papo & Yo
Shadowrun
Shadowgate
Defense Grid
Unity of Command

In no particular order:
Shadowrun: Dragonfall
Mark of the Ninja
FTL
Crimson Clover: World Ignition
Shadow Warrior
Super Meat Boy

Shadow Warrior is indie?

Bit of a grey area, but by most definitions, yes. Well, the 2013 remake, not the originals.

Flying Wild Hog is an independent studio.
Devolver Digital is a publisher, but doesn't own the studios it publishes for.

The term "indie" is quite hard to define. Some consider it to be an independently owned game studio, but that would effectively make Paradox "indie", other claim that it's down to the budget of the titles (so no million $ titles), but people can't quite agree on what the limit is. And other try to apply even more nebulous terms, like studios that follow "the indie spirit". That's so vague that I don't think it means anything.

If games that have a non-independetly owned publisher don't count as indie, this would mean that Bastion is not indie.

Looking at this thread I see so many games that are amazing and I really loved, so it's hard to choose... But the first thing that popped in my head when I saw the title was To The Moon, so I guess that means something.

Dust , an Elysian Tail ... that might be the best Indie tittle out there.

However stuff like Bastion Terraria FTL Dont starve , that other people mentioned are also priseworthy .

Tbh , i prefer indie games then AAA nowadays , they are much more enjoyable to play.

Latest gem i had the chance to enjoy was Skybord , its made in RPG Maker , and its a Damn good game !

Hands down, Binding of Isaac. The remake is just as good, if not better.

SanctuaryRPG: Black Edition is pretty amazing if you can appreciate the art style.

Currently playing through Shadowrun Returns and loving every minute of it so far.

It's only getting better from there. Dragonfall is considerably better than Returns, and Returns is already a very good game as it is. Hong Kong is released soon, and it looks like it will turn out to be even better than that (they are fixing the Matrix bit, making it more interesting and doing some other tweaks to improve the game).

Did you ever play the first game? Returns is a bit of a follow up to the SNES Shadowrun, though not directly so.There are a few nods back to it, and even a returning character.
