Not entirely, I do it in the hopes of maybe a positive reaction sometimes

Wikipedia is unreliable! May I suggest Merriam Webster Dictionary?

The term goes back to a fishing term, where you put out bait and cruise around trying to get a reaction. The term morphed to include the mythological creatures "trolls", mostly to give the idea a face. Thus, the person doing it is a troll and the troll is trolling for a reaction.

Some trolls can be rather devious, but most are too obvious and would never fit under a stone bridge ready to jump out and scare anyone.

Not impossible to have made an account years ago, and not actively go on forums.
I know a number of people who use internet, but certainly not deep enough to see what it has to offer (for the better or the worse).

And amusement. It's terribly amusing seeing people get into a fury when you say something that sounds almost too obnoxious to be serious yet they will address it seriously, and continue to reply to you as you continuously descend into even more obnoxious comments.
Personally I like to reveal that I am a troll when I'm done just to see the annoyed/sheepish comments made as they suddenly come to the realisation that they've just tried to prove something to someone when they weren't in the slightest bit serious at first.

What trolling is: Proper trolling is inducing an angry response in someone, often leading them into an endless debate. It is basically getting a good, sustained reaction from others. Good trolls never tell you that you're being trolled, you have to figure it out.
What trolling is not: Acting retarded on the internet and having people call you out on it.

I'm new to internet, and sometimes I see people talking about "trolling" and calling others "troll". Also, others reply something like "Don't feed the troll".
But as far I know, Trolls are fictional monsters in some videogames and movies. I research in Wikipedia a found this: "A troll is a supernatural being in Norse mythology and Scandinavian folklore. In origin, troll may have been a negative synonym for a jötunn (plural jötnar), a being in Norse mythology. In Old Norse sources, beings described as trolls dwell in isolated rocks, mountains, or caves, live together in small family units, and are rarely helpful to human beings."
But still, I don't know why people post images like this one.
Would appreciate if you can explain me this better.
Thanks :)
Someone can tell me how to go from a direct imgur link to a link where I can see comments for that image?
