Probably would have to be Sir Gawain. Personality-wise he's likely the closest to my own, and he's a very intriguing character to explore from a literary standpoint, since he's been described in all manner of ways. In some way, he's probably a very early example of character retconning that we see so often in comic books; Gawain's character, much like many current fictional archetypes, morphs to suit the needs of the story being told, whether that's as a main character, a supporting one or one in-between.
Alas, I don't have any artistic skills, otherwise I would most definitely draw a duel between Sir Gawain and the noble octopus king, wherein they each earn the other's begrudging respect and Gawain is rewarded a magnificent trident for his troubles...or maybe just a staff with lots of suckers on it called "The Octo-arm".
Also, I already own King Arthur, so you can take me out of the running for that one.

Sir Lancelot because i can really relate to him and honestly?
he is a badass

I was going to go with Gawain, but he's very popular. So, here's my second pick:
Sir Bors de Ganis. The only knight to survive the quest for the holy grail. And after the Lancelot/Arthur split, he goes on the Crusades and dies in battle.
I don't have either game, but Crusader Kings 2 is at the top of my wishlist :).

I will name Sir. Gawayne, since I liked the story about the green knight, which I happen to have by J.R.R. Tolkien.
Edit. after reading the posts I have to be frank, I thought about Mordred too, Hard life, raised in the old ways, born from the old ways.

The Black Knight is obviously the most superior knight. Not only did he have the honor of fighting Arthur in single combat, he was able to keep fighting even after he had lost limbs to the superior combatant. Too courageous to even consider defeat, this noble knight kept fighting. One must admire such stubborn tenacity, for even when he was laid short and low, he refused to give up the fight and bight Arthur's kneecaps. Such bravery must be admired and commended.
As an aside, please tell my that Monty Python's rendition counts as an Arthurian Legend? Technically, it is more modern, but legends are made all the time... Also, I am not saying this because I don't know any of the other legends, just thought this was the best to write a reason for...

Yes, knights from Monthy Python's Holy Grail are perfectly fine. :-)
Even the traditional medieval handwritings greatly differ from each other and the legends basically changed every time a new writer or translator was involved, so I don't think there is a static canon.

Well, I believe someone brought up the Black Knight earlier, but it was one line of text.... Also, it was rumored that the Black Knight was in league with the Studious Professor, and decapitated him only when he got too studious... Another reason why the Black Knight is the best!

I second Brave Sir Robin.
Because he's not afraid to die, or to be killed in nasty ways. By being mashed into a pulp, having his eyes gouged out and his elbows broken, for example. Neither to have his kneecaps split and his body burned away, and his limbs all hacked and mangled.
His head smashed in, and his heart cut out, and his liver removed and his bowels unplugged, and his nostrils raped, his bottom burned off and his peni-- Well, and so on.
Also, he has some tatsy minstrels for companions, which is always good to have.

Sir Lancelot is my favorite because he brings flavor to the story from being King Arthur's right hand man to betrayer.

Third vote for Brave Sir Robin because he is followed by his favourite minstrels who sing odes to his great brave deeds.
I'd rather pick the Rabbit of Caerbannog but I guess you're not asking for a killer of Knights of the Round Table.

Nice find. :-)
Not very realistic, though. There's no way the octopus could lose that battle!

Sir Tristan, mostly because the trials he overcome to find his true love. Most of the knights of the round table are pure only in the chastity sense, and the only one who face any romantic developement are Lancelot, who the tragic hero facade is frequently forgotten. So im really tempted to choose tristan.

Hello ladies and gentlemen, trolls and trollettes.
Post your favourite knight from the King Arthur legends (can be Arthur himself, a knight from the round table, a knight they fought at a time,...) and have the chance to win King Arthur and Crusader Kings II. I will randomly draw the winner from all valid entries and send him or her a Steam invite.
A few rules:
Only one entry per person
Give at least a short reason why you chose this particular knight - one sentence is enough, I won't count entries only dropping a name and nothing else
You can get bonus points (= more raffle tickets, higher chance of winning) if you: a) name my favourite knight (I won't tell who it is of course), b) provide an awesome, funny, touching, or otherwise well thought out reason for your choice, c) make something creative based on your answer like writing a story or drawing a picture (it has to be your own work and additional bonus points if it contains the king of animals - the majestic octopus!)
If you already have one (or both) of the games, please say so in your post
Post your entries in this thread before Tuesday the 14th
