Emulate joystick with joypad?

Is there a way to emulate a joystick using a joypad on windows?
I bought one of the last SW bundles with the full X wing series, meant to be played with a joystick, but only have joypads (360 +other).
Something like xpadder, maybe? Or even xpadder itself?

go for xpadder. i'm using that and sometimes ... when i want more from my xbox360 controller i go with http://store.steampowered.com/app/367670/
