answer the call, shout loudly 'CYKA BLYAT', then block the number with some third party app and move along.

They are probably expecting you to call them back and you'll end up paying a lot of money. I doubt that it's the scammer's fault. He couldn't know your number. Phone scammers aren't rare, so they probably found your phone from a list or something.

As I told ya, no reason to be afraid. The game scammer had nothing to do with those phone calls. Phone scammers are really common. They want you to call them back in order to get charged a lot of money, so don't call them back obviously.

KGB assassins are trying to track you down with a phone call. Don't answer. Destroy your phone immediately, burn your house down, and take a one way ticket to some obscure undisclosed location. Trust me, I'm James Bond.

You won't trick me again, James Bond!
I've caught on to your tricksy ways! :|
...and it only took three thousand thirty-three burnt down houses and a civil war for me to do so.
I do admit to intentionally burning down an extra one hundred and fourteen after catching on, just to make the final number cooler. :X

Stop switching that one light switch in your house that seemingly does nothing.

They're trying to call you and tell you to cut it out.

It's not certain that they are from Russia, the scammers can be from anywhere in the world, they might just have found a Russian provider who care more about money than staying on the right side of the law. Russia is well known for having major issues with corruption, and unlike say a Nigerian number, it might not get auto-blocked by your phone provider.

Not certain, just pretty likely. Most scam-related cybercrime groups are concentrated in the ex-Soviet countries, mostly Russia, Ukraine, and the three Baltic states. Even outside them, Eastern Europe is also strong in this aspect. If you bet on a scam likes this originating somewhere between the Eastern borders of Germany and the Urals, you will most likely win that money back.

If you're worried about it, do any number of the following:

I recently got a lot of phone calls from the UK. Ended up reporting them to their provider. Not sure if their provider actually did anything, but the 2 different numbers that have been calling me have stopped, so it's possible that the provider either just made it so that they can't call me anymore, or it might have terminated their account.

One time I had a persistent sales call from the same number on my cell phone, which happens to be my primary as well. So I did the only thing that came to mind finally. I put on chanting sounds loudly from youtube in the background, answered the phone and acted like I was performing a satanic ritual for the sales person.
Never did get a call from that number again.... Wonder why....

I am exactly what those calls are about. I have heard from lot of people who experienced it.
When you pick up the call, you will hear a girl speaking in your language. She will tell you that she wants to move to your country to earn money. She will ask if you can help her about it. She will send you her pictures. You will chat with her and become friends. She wants to live with you when she moves. She says she doesnt have money for airplane ticket and she will make you buy it for her. When the departure date comes, she will call again asking for cash telling that airport officers wont let her take the plane without cash. When you refuse to send cash, she says she cannot go back because her brother will kill her. If you send cash, she wont take the plane anyway.

I'll take a wild guess and say you have Russian sounding name or you have registered yourself to VK (vkontakte)?
