What is a hardcore gamer?

Hello. I've recently been looking into the term "hardcore gamer". It seems people have different opinions on it.

Is a hardcore gamer someone who just play games a lot? Or one game a lot? Is it someone who is good in a game? Is it someone who is 100% serious-no bullshit while playing?

I really don't know.

I'd say that a hardcore gamer is someone who has "gamer" as part of what he sees himself. If gaming is just a hobby you enjoy, even if you do it quite a bit, you're not hardcore. If gaming is at your core, you play a lot, you talk about it a lot, then you're hardcore.
