i realised how many bundled games and games on steamsales i bought - well actually just to have them in my library. it's kinda weird but i already know that i wont play most of the games before buying the bundle except some huge titles like alan wake, sniper elite v2 or the walking dead. well at least some bucks are going to charity xD how many bundles have you bought and how much money have you spent on them?

I'm actually on this, I've told myself to buy every upcoming humble bundle (excluding Weeklys, if I don't really want them of course) ever since I bought Tripwire weekly with Killing Floor. Just because I like to brag a bit, I paid 70 dollars for the double fine bundle and gave everything to charity, yo.

Not really , sometimes you find some awesome game , maybe 1 in 20 maybe 4 out of 4 and also sometimes there's weekly unlocks and you don't know what game it will be , it's a gamble .

I buy bundles if there's one game I've really wanted or a bunch of games I've mildly wanted. No, I don't play half of them, but I do get to some of them eventually.

I prefer to think of it as pro-actively building my backlog for the time between console generations (after I'm done playing last-gen, but before the current gen has worked out the kinks and come down in price).

I buy bundles because I travel a lot for work. My netbook can't play AAA games, and while my ultrabook has a decent spec, the keyboard isn't great so the twitchy titles I usually favour on my PC at home don't feel right. I stock up on ultra-casual games and mess around with them when I'm away from home. A lot of them turn out to be rubbish, but some of them are OK, and I don't mind paying a few dollars to sample a bunch of titles - if even one of them is decent I've got my money's worth out of the bundle.

I only pick them up if they have enough that interest me, which seems to be about 20% of them. But even that 20% represents a very low financial cost for a large return. My Steam library has exploded as a result, to the point where I had to start sorting out my games.

There are still a few more games that I'd like to get (Wadeye Jet games and more of the Total War series), but there's not a whole lot that I'm actively seeking other than that. But I'll always keep an eye on bundles. For $1, I'm willing to try most anything that looks interesting with some good reviews.

I'm pretty much in the same boat as you - I found myself buying them just because they were cheap, when at best I wanted to play 1 or 2 games, and often none. I have the best track record with Humble Bundle as far as actually playing the games I buy, and I've cut way back on bundle buying this year.

Actually I'm buying bundles only when they contain at least 1 title I'm sure I'll play. It's usually cheaper this way :D And the other games sometimes are good too ^^

I try to be selective with bundles for the most part. They are cheap so they're all tempting, but if I don't think I'm going to end up playing any of the games, then I usually pass. I'll certainly get them though if there are at least a couple games I might like.

I stopped buying them when i realized that i'm not going to play them and most of them are crap. Now i buy bundles only if i'm interested in those games.

I may be the odd one out there, but mostly I buy bundles for their often-included soundtracks. I collect video game soundtracks and it has been a blessing, because most of the time you'd only get the soundtrack from a collector's edition of some sort.

Of course I also enjoy the games, but if I am not particularly interested in the games, but all of them have soundtracks, then I will most likely buy it anyways. :)

I love Video Game Soundtracks, Have you checked out a game called Starbound?
I believe pre-ordering that gives a sound track, I has about 50 songs and they're great!

Bundles you get lots of games for cheap. I often buy bundles for just one game I want, and then add all the others to my steam list to force myself to play games I wouldn't of otherwise

Bump for don't want to think about how much money I've spent buying things I'll never play... :)

Some are for the crazy discounts on big stuff, like the Humble THQ Bundle or the Alan Wake you mentioned. Or to get a bunch of "ok" games - maybe in a year when I try them all, I will discover there was a great game hiding in there. There may also have been a time where I bought a bundle just to make 90% of the giveaways disappear... :)

I buy Humble Bundles to build up my DRM-Free library. I just have a feeling that down the road, those will be the only PC games I have left to play. So there.

Hmm, never thought about it that way. I just enter steam keys and forget about the drm-free stuff. Hmm...

If there ever came a time when I needed the drm-free games, it would probably be too late to download them. Maybe I should download everything from the dozen different bundle places now and put them in a safe place...

Yeah. I realized using the Steam Keys for myself is pointless. I essentially receive two copies of a game, so I give the Steam key to someone else. But I have used quite a few keys on myself, sadly

I buy almost all the Humble Bundles (and quite a few Humble Weekly Bundles). If I have any games duplicated, I chuck them onto SG. Someone will appreciate them, and I dont mind that they arent increasing my CV

Well, I do buy them when I see that there are interesting games. For example the last weekly HB - with Shank, Shank2, Eets - does not contain games I'm interested to, so I won't buy it. When I see a bundle that contains a few games I'm really interested to, I buy it and the other games either I play them or I gift them. :) And yes, at least some of those bucks go to charity, so they are well spent :)

I end up playing my indie games more than the AAA games. I don't have time to sit down and play a massive game. But I usually have time for a small little indie game most of the time.

Unless it is FTL in which it is slowly starting to eat my soul.

I think I'm at 20 hours now. I unlocked the slug, engi, and red tail. But I have not really been trying to unlock ships, just actually successfully play through the whole thing.

I buy almost every bundle that has Steam games I don't already own. This is mostly because generally the bundles are dirt cheap, averaging out to something like 50 cents to a dollar per game. That's often going to be cheaper than buying even just 1 or 2 games from the bundle at 75% off. When you get games for that cheap, you really don't need to play them all that long to get your money's worth. If you even get half an hour of entertainment out of it, that's still damn good. You'd be surprised how many hidden gems you'll find in bundles, even games you wouldn't think you'd enjoy.

I get lots of extra bundle keys that I give to either my brother or friends in chat who don't happen to own the game. If I can't get rid of them that way, then I can always throw them up on SG as well. Make someone happy, get a few games I don't already own myself, save money. Everybody's happy :)
