My only inspired thought is the hoops could suggest 0's, and maybe it's referencing binary? But that doesnt fit.

Also cant see any pattern that would suggest any classic code, so i'm thinking there's a simple trick, and i'm overthinking it.

Thanks so much for the giveaways and riddles! They were fun to solve, going from "What's this?! Nope, I'll never figure this out" to "Hell no, I have to try again and figure out the damn answer!" and "Oh, silly me, it's really that simple" on several occasions.
