so basically they create a dlc to allow people to go free roam which they should have done it in the first place, am i the only one who thinks that its a little bit too much?

You said it right, DLCs, bro, complete rip-offs from essential features. I find DLCs to be the most stupid thing ever happened to gaming. I mean, there are some minor exceptions but this one isn't.

How I wish expansions on the Diablo 2 and Warcraft 3 ways were back :/

I took the liberty to fix your picture to make it a real reflection of the reality.

State of Decay was still Early Access only a few weeks ago? Which means the game was still in Beta and unfinished? How can it have DLC's already? That is insane.

I definitely won't be buying that game till it's GOTY and 75% off then

It was released on Xbox Live in June. My guess is that they worked on it simultaneously with PC port.

Except you're wrong, it came out months ago on XBLA. Meaning the core content was done, and while some of the team worked on the port, the other members (the ones that make actual game content rather than just coding stuff) have been working on this DLC.

While I don't like DLC either, and this probably should have been cheaper than on Xbox, its not like it was content left out of the game, it was extra content they made for it. And its not just a sandbox mode, its got more content than that if you look into it. Up to you whether its worth the money they're asking or if you want to wait for a sale.

EDIT--Ninja'd by skylight. My statements remain however.

It was Early Access as they were porting the game to PC and making sure it was stable. The game was released months ago on the 360.

It has DLC "already" because this isn't part of the original game. It's an entire other mode they spent months building.

No. Too much is when you pay $60 for a game and there are fucking microtransactions in it. This was made by an indie team, and they made an amazing game with limited budget they had. And the game costs $20 FFS. I don't like DLCs but this is nothing new.

Budgetary limitations forced them to cut back on a lot of ideas for the original Xbox release, and that carried over to the PC port unfortunately. The situation doesn't look rosier when you consider that Undead Labs are apparently using the majority of the profit from the Early Access program to fund a multiplayer version of the game.

I wouldn't normally mind a company releasing a paid sandbox mode, but Breakdown ultimately does nothing but lock out the main story. Aside from adding a few weapons and making specialist "rare" characters playable, it really doesn't add anything new to the experience. Not really worth the $7 I paid for it so far.

I was going to buy the game.
When I saw the DLC ... I say: No, No, Nooo.

To be honest I would rather they'd delayed the game and released it with the DLC for $10 more. It just leaves a bad taste in the mouth to do it this way.

Instant DLCs for a game are a definite NO-NO

Wow,

So not to mention that they did a shitty PC port (mouse and keyboard commands and bindings are still a complete joke) The graphics settings are screwed up to hell I can't run this game on the highest graphics settings and neither can my friends without experiencing dramatic FPS drops at random points (My system specs are 5x that of the recommend specs if not more.)

Not to mention all the glitches and bugs still there, which wrecked my first play through (it's have having a mission you have to do with the bag you need under a water tower/bridge).

Honestly they went about it all wrong.

SoD was built using CryEngine, but you wouldn't know it based on the game's technical performance. It's simply horrible, and I get the impression the devs just don't have the experience needed to make it run smoothly.
